It’s coming up to that time again and while not everyone likes winter, I have to say I love a change from seeing strapless, sleeveless dresses! I figure gowns that have more material mean the designer has more to play with, a more expansive canvas if you will? With this in mind, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite winter wedding dresses for you today. These gowns are all about coverage; some are highly embellished, some cut a beautiful silhouette. All would be perfect winter wedding wear!

Ersa Atelier | Rosa Clara

The first gown, by Ersa Atelier, caught my eye for its sumptuous skirting which is actually removable to reveal a short reception dress. I just can’t stop looking at Rosa Clara’s Aixa gown above. What a simple elegant cut- and how classic is that neckline?

Paolo Sebastian | Alia Bastamam via Fashionbride

I love a simple silhouette and the way the Alia Bastamam gown above drapes is just perfection. The Paolo Sebastian dress has a definite modern, geometric vibe but again it’s the elegant silhouette I fell for.

Rivini | Temperley | Rosa Clara

The Delicata gown by Rivini, Angeli Lattice dress by Temperley and Mariola by Rosa Clara all have maximum coverage without sacrificing on style. The appliquéd overlay of the Mariola dress above has a particularly lovely floral motif, and I was drawn to the Grecian style of the Temperley gown with its embellished arms adding a modern twist. I love the almost casual drape of the Mauritius gown by Rita Westenius and the silk kaftan dress by Matthew Williamson below.

Of course there’s always the option of covering up with a beautiful outer layer. I love the Alberta coat above by Amanda Wakeley for its Snow Queen vibe. For more cover-up options check out this recent post on One Fab Day. What do you think- are you getting married in a cold climate? We’d love to hear what you plan to wear!

Friday’s FAB 5

Here are the weddings things we loved this week:

Atmospheric Irish inspiration

✈ Beautiful Australian coast

✈ Berry crush

✈ Stockholm by the seaside

Simple and sweet

Finally in case you missed anything this week, we started Monday with three gorgeous wedding venues in Croatia, a destination definitely on the rise with couples. We saw two real weddings in Italy this week, one a rural sunset celebration near Campobasso and the other held in an Italian village wedding venue called Titignano. We had some romantic, whimsical outdoor inspiration for you too with bright pops of colour and a rustic vibe. That’s it for now- be sure to check back in next week as we’ll be sharing our Amelie inspired photoshoot from Paris. Excited!
