Provence is a beautiful region of south east France which includes Alpine territory as well as the French Riviera, or Côte d’Azur, along the Mediterranean coast. Today we’re taking a look at three wedding venues in Provence which stand out as particularly spectacular destination wedding locations. The first is a boutique hotel which can cater to medium size celebrations of up to 150, while the second and third are more intimate wedding venues- one set amidst the typical lavender fields of the region and the other a beautiful vineyard venue with Baroque flavor decor.

Couvent des Minimes

A former monastery, this boutique hotel has been completely refurbished inside with modern and comfortable facilities while retaining its traditional outer facade. The Couvent des Minimes has 46 guest rooms and a spa with indoor and outdoor swimming pool and 6 treatment rooms.  There are facilities to hold receptions from 12 to 150 guests. The hotel is located near the picturesque medieval town of Mane (over 1000 years old) with steep cobbled side streets, a citadel and Florentine 16th century church with an altar of multicolored marble.

Le Mas de la Rose

The Mas de la Rose is a 17th century Provençal farmhouse, a more intimate wedding venue than the Couvent des Minimes above having 8 rooms and 3 suites. The Mas is located in a park full of lavender fields and planted with olive and pine trees, next to the village of Eygalières. We love that the estate produces its own olive oil and organically-grown fruit and vegetables and is committed to a sustainable development plan. The decor id traditional yet modern with beautiful stone and marble-work throughout in soft natural shades.

La Bastides is a working vineyard of 57 acres located near the beautiful village of Ménerbes and set amidst beautiful rolling hills and poplar trees. The main building has 15 rooms with a separate property, the Villa Grenache, also available for rent on the estate which can accommodate a further 10 guests. The decor is antique with a Baroque flavor, and there is a multi-level swimming pool which just looks divine!

These locations are absolutely stunning. I think the South of France as a whole is a good choice to hold a wedding. The weather is perfect in the summer time and the culture is really something to immerse yourself in. What is great, is with the likes of vineyards, gold resorts and farmhouses, nature serves as a backdrop. Not only is it beautiful but also one less thing to stress about.
