Hope you all enjoyed the four day week, not enough of them in the year if you ask me! As always, I love to see Friday come around, even when it’s Friday the 13th and just incase you missed some of our destination wedding goodness this week, here is our weekly round up.
Last Saturday we featured Becky and Ron’s beautiful elopement in Costa Rica. On Monday, three brides got together for a trash the dress session, Marie Antoinette style titled “Let them eat Cake”. Especially for those of you planning a destination wedding in Italy, we had some beautiful venues in Rome for your consideration on Tuesday. On Wednesday we brought you part one of Tam and Russells wedding in Hotel Crillion, Paris with a movie by Studio Artifice, followed by their gorgeous wedding pictures yesterday.
We have another round of 5 FAB destination wedding links from around the world this Friday.
✈ A wedding in the most beautiful venue in Maui, Hawii – I know this because I was lucky enough to perform here 3 years ago
✈ A seriously stylish Russian bride and a medieval Castle in Scotland – Old Hollywood Glamour
✈ An Australian bride and an Irish Groom – Lovely shades of green..
✈ One of the most beautiful South Africa Weddings I’ve ever seen – And she wore that beautiful Collette Dinnegan dress from this post!
Wedding Cake Toppers
For todays FAB 5 inpiration pick of the week, I’m taking a close look at some wedding cake topper alternatives. If your hoping to steer clear of mini bride and groom figurines and looking for another area where you can inject some personal style, then stick with us!
Well we had to start somewhere! If you are having a destination wedding or a travel themed wedding, why not choose a travel inspired cake topper. Maybe you picked up an ornament while abroad that just reminded you of so much fun together, the possibilities are endless but here are a few ideas to get you started.
Knitted Cake Toppers
These knitted cake toppers are just so amazing. If you are into knitting or crocheting, it would be a great way to get some of your personality across and add your own touch to the day. If not and you love ‘em anyway well then you have to check out Cherry Time. Love the way you can also get some different lingo in if you are having a destination wedding too!
Wire Cake Toppers
I just love the idea of these little guys as you really can personalise them to suit your interests or a particular theme you are going for. Lucky for us, Heather Boyd has a fantastic range of travel inspired wire wedding cake toppers ad they also create bespoke items on request.
Tea Cup Wedding Cake Toppers
Nothing goes better with Cake than a good cup of tea which is why we are big fans of this next trend. On a recent FAB inspiration shoot on Irish Wedding Traditions, the talented Pearl and Godiva also incorporated this idea into the dessert table. Look how pretty…

Paper Pom Pom Wedding Cake Toppers
Finally, our last Wedding Cake Topper crush is on paper pom poms! I think they are fun and flirty and a great way to incorporate more of your wedding palette into your big day. For you crafty couples, these are DIYable but we think Potter and Butler do a smashing job if you want to save yourself the hassle.
I still can’t pick my favourite, but maybe you have yours? If not, you have the whole weekend ahead of you to ponder.. maybe you have some suggestions for us!
Have a great one! x
