Love isn’t always about red. In fact I’m a little overwhelmed with that colour at the moment. I decided instead to celebrate Valentine’s with a palette of romantic antique shades- dusty cocoa, creams, bleached peach and delicate rose. Take pastel wedding inspiration straight from the pages of Sense and Sensibility with trailing floral arrangements, vintage mirrors, book pages and delicate tulle textures. Look past the first stages of being in love- the terribly intense emotions and violent feelings, to the later stages of eloquent harmony that can be achieved in a relationship. I know there’s a tendency to dismiss Valentine’s as being a commercial holiday, but it’s as good a time as any to give thanks- or even just acknowledge- that you have love in your life. Somewhere. Because what else is there?
