New York Bridal Week_008

As you might already know from our FAB 5 yesterday, we have been following New York Bridal Week and have fallen in love all over again with the worlds leading bridal designers and their FAB 2013 Spring collections. Yesterday, we featured only 5 out of all of our favourite designers and a sample of their Spring 2013 bridal collections but we couldn’t leave it at that. Here are the rest of our fave’s…

We have no doubt that new trends seen this week are going to have a major ripple effect in the wedding world but what has left a lasting impression on you gals? Will any of you dare to wear red? What about the white tights? Yay or nay?! Nay for me on both accounts but I will never ever tire of the eminently sophisticated illusion and sheer necklines or the delicate lace and appliqué detailing and I may, just may have become slightly partial to the over-sized bow! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Friday’s Fab 5

FAB 5_008

We can’t believe that another week has gone by and that we are into the month of March already so because everything is flying by so fast, lets take another look at the week that was on FAB.

Last Saturday we were whisked away to Skåne in Southern Sweden for a three day extravaganza thanks to Peter, Linda and Adorable Moments. On Monday, Pamela brought some childhood fun with very destination friendly wedding inspiration in the form of Paper Planes. On Tuesday we took a look at the first in our venue search series with a feature on three very beautiful venues in France.

On Wednesday, it was off to bonnie Scotland for Jaime and Marks stunning wedding by Loch Ness… and thankfully, Nessie didn’t make an appearance. Nevertheless, we got to experience our first Quaich drinking ceremony, check it out here. And finally, yesterday we had a Tuscany themed wedding in Malibu, California.

Alexander McQueen Autumn Winter 2011 Collection

There’s big speculation that Kate Middleton could wed in a bridal gown designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen. I think this gown would be stunning for a winter wedding in Barcelona, the amazing bodice and ruffled skirt immediately brings Gaudi to mind.

When should brides start looking and shopping for their bridal dress if they are planning on a vintage wedding dress?

There is no set time needed for buying a vintage wedding dress. Unlike bridal boutiques you will not have to order your dress within a specific time. The time-line will be dictated by whatever the bride is comfortable with. She could pop into us a month before the wedding and find her perfect dress or make an appointment a year before and we could source something specific for her if we don’t currently have in what she has in mind.
