There is nothing like a styled shoot to get your inspiration juices flowing and this absolute beauty comes from Missouri, USA. I’m in love with these images, from the beautiful florals to the tablescapes and outdoor ceremony, it really doesn’t disappoint. The creatives responsible for today’s session include Alea Lovely Fine Art Photography and I’m going to hand it over to them to give us some insight into how this country elegance bridal inspiration shoot came to life.
Watching the gymnastics at the Olympics this week got me thinking about getting into shape… and then I started thinking about cake instead. I think we need to take a break from our strenuous athletics-watching schedule, so I put together some cakes I love the look of. A bit of unusual wedding cake inspiration. Cakes that look too good to eat. Cakes to match every colour scheme and wedding style. Cakes, cakes, cakes! Let’s celebrate the cake!

Today we have the pleasure of featuring Paige and John’s rustic and very elegant mountain farm destination wedding in the beautiful surroundings of Blackbery Farm. Watson-Studios their FAB photographer tells us a bit more about their special day…
Paige and John were married in front of their closest family and friends at Blackberry Farm in Walland, TN – named North America’s No. 1 Resort by Travel and Leisure Magazine. They are from Chicago and have family all over the country, so it was a southern destination wedding in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. Paige and her mother who helped with the design have a beautiful and elegant style that comes through in all of the gorgeous details.
This weekend I have been dreaming of evenings in the sun, relaxed Summer drinks with friends and tasty bites and thought what could be more whimsical and wonderful for a couple looking for a stress free laid back wedding reception than a picnic wedding!
Paper lanterns, wild flowers, picnic blankets, tasty treats, lemonade, twinkling fairy light… the potential gorgeousness is never ending…

Being a destination themed wedding inspiration blog, we are always excited to see travel elements incorporated into wedding decor. Vintage Luggage is a trend that we’ve seen plenty of over the past year and one that we will hopefully see a lot more of in 2012. What we love about Vintage Luggage (apart from the fact that it is incredibly pretty) is that it is very practical for those of you planning on tying the knot abroad. The Royal Wedding has come and gone and although I tried to work for the day and dip in and out of the coverage I couldn’t help but become completely distracted. Once I saw Catherine in her stunning wedding gown designed by Sarah Burton, I was glued!
Catherine and William’s Royal wedding will no doubt inspire weddings for years to come, here are some of the many highlights from the day.

Catherine on her way to Westminster Abbey with her very symbolic bouquet; sweet william for gallantry, hyacinths for love, ivy for fidelity and marriage, lily of the valley for happiness and, in royal tradition, myrtle, for marriage and love. I love Lily of the Valley, one of my personal favourites…
Catherine’s wedding gown and veil were very reminiscent of Princess Grace of Monaco, very elegant, very beautiful.
The flowergirls wore beautiful crowns of flowers in their hair and the page boys were just adorable!
On this the eve of of the Royal Wedding I though it would be nice to look back at some previous British Royal weddings and at the Royal wedding traditions that have developed through the years…

It is a tradition for the royal bride to wear a white wedding dress, a tradition that originally began with the royal family’s Queen Victoria in 1840.

When Queen Victoria married Prince Albert in 1840, she carried myrtle, known as the herb of love, in her bouquet. After the wedding, Victoria planted a myrtle shrub in her garden at the Osborne House on the Isle of Wight and since then every British royal bride has carried a bouquet containing a sprig plucked from the same shrub.
In an act of love to honor the armed forces Royal brides leave her bouquet in Westminster Abbey at the grave of the Unknown Warrior. The Queen Mother unknowingly created the tradition when she laid down her bouquet in remembrance of her brother who has lost his life in the Battle of Loos.

A tradition beginning with the Queen’s late mother in 1923, all of the royal women’s wedding bands have contained precious Welsh gold from the same nugget mined in Dolgellau, North Wales – a variety of gold that is very valuable. While the original nugget is almost depleted, the Queen has since been presented with another large nugget for future wedding bands, including Catherine’s.
