We are back in “La Ville-Lumière” toady to share the small and intimate family wedding of Michelle and Dan. This Californian couple met at work, known to you and I as the happiest place on earth.. magical Disneyland. Beatrice de Guigne from BgD Photography is the lady behind the beautiful photography and my personal favourite has to be Michelles “Look… no hands” picture on the Eiffel Tower Carousel…. All that practice in Disneyland, the girls a pro!

We wanted to know all the details and Michelle was more than happy to oblige. “We started dating in June 2007 so we have been together almost 4 1/2 years. We had talked about getting married before, and even looked at rings together. He still wanted to surprise me so he bought the ring without me knowing it, telling me he was planning on getting it later in the year. We went for a walk through Disneyland Park, and he pulled out the ring box right in front of the castle! He didn’t get down on one knee, and I think I am even grateful, because I would have been embarassed. I of course said yes and I was very happy to have the ring so much earlier than I had planned. Then we had to drive to my parents house to tell them the news!”

When this spectacularly colourful and exotic wedding arrived in my inbox my heart fluttered. I am thrilled to be sharing it with you today courtesy of the fabulous Boutique Souk.
Stephanie a fashion journalist and stylist from London and Anand also from London have recently moved to Hong Kong and have a large network of International friends. They chose Marrakesh for their wedding destination its warm climate and exotic surroundings and because they wanted their wedding to reflect their passion for travel. Stephanie had her heart set on a weekend of outdoor dining on balmy evenings and day times by the pool with all the family. They wanted two distinct weddings reflecting their English and Indian heritage with a religious traditional Indian wedding on the Friday evening and a classic white wedding on the Saturday.

Boutique Souk’s decorated Dar Sabra for the ceremony and dinner. A traditional ‘Mandap’ was erected for the ceremony, draped in fuchsia pink fabrics with fuchsia and pale pink roses. Guests were seated on transparent napoleon chairs under swathes of pink tenting to protect them from the end of the day sun. Brightly coloured carved wooden fans were placed on the seats – a memento from the couple’s recent trip to Cambodia.

Following tradition, the groom and his family were warmly welcomed to Dar Sabra by the bride’s family and friends. Stephanie, embracing the Moroccan culture, made her entrance in a style typical of a Moroccan wedding; she was carried in on an Amari throne, heralded by trumpeters…

I am so excited to share this very intimate destination wedding with you today. If you have been considering a destination wedding with only the two of you, you will definitely find Eva and Gregor’s wedding an inspiration. Photographed by Christine Meintjes their wedding ceremony took place in front of Cape Town’s majestic mountains.
“Eva & Gregor are both mountain climbers and after climbing Mount Everest and many other well known mountain ranges, the couple decided to visit South Africa and climb all over the country. Their final stop before going back to Slovenia was Cape Town. In the planning of the trip, they decided to add something special to the occasion and get married!”

“The ceremony was in Trinity Chapel and the reception was held in the Guinness Storehouse. And with all the snow I knew both locations would be brilliant.”

I can’t express how excited I am to launch Fly Away Bride with this stunning intimate, French inspired, South African wedding. Anri and Anthony met and live in London, and were married in South Africa on 10.10.10! Although Anri “was born in South Africa and this was naturally going to be the destination’” for their wedding they were inspired by their passion for everything French to add a certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ to their wedding day and very fittingly chose the beautiful Le Chatelat as their venue.
What can I say, the stunning images taken by Annemari Ruthven Photography speak for themselves. I think Anri has to be one of the most beautiful brides I have ever seen…
