Outdoor Ceremony Backdrops

Our inspiration pick this week is outdoor ceremony backdrops for those of you having a blessing abroad or outside. Here are 5 ideas that we love and that are practical with a bit of planning ahead, well maybe all but one!

Ribbons

Easy to carry or buy abroad but such an eye catching detail. If you can’t manage to put up a structure to tie them to, we love how they look draped across a tree. Easy peasy

Paper Flowers

Loving these gigantic paper flowers. Might be a bit tricky to carry abroad but if you have a few days to relax before your big day, these would a make a really enjoyable DIY project with family and friends. Otherwise, downsize. The paper crane and flower garland can be made before you leave, packed in a small box and assembled when you arrive! Gorgeous.

Bunting

We will never tire of bunting. It’s so pretty and makes decorating so simple, not to mention packing!

Stuctures

OK, maybe not one for a destination wedding but we had to include them. If you have a crafty man / woman in your life, then get them to work! These make such a statement.

Frames

We know that travelling abroad can sometimes mean leaving important family and friends behind which is why this backdrop idea is our favourite. Place pictures of your loved ones into the frames and take them with you. They will be right alongside you as you say I do.

Fridays FAB 5

FAB 5_025

What a great St Patricks week special we have been having on FAB!

We started off the week with our second ever Styled Shoot – “A Mythical Tune”. A Mythical Tune was inspired by a post Fly Away Bride featured last St. Patricks Day that highlighted some old Irish Wedding Traditions. As you might know by now, we are going to be regularly featuring venue spotlights from around the world to help you find the perfect destination wedding venue. It was the perfect week to start our venue search in Ireland, so on Tuesday we showcased three magnificently romantic Irish Castles – check out Huntington Castle, Castle Durrow and Belle Isle Castle here.

On Wednesday, we shared part two of “A Mythical Tune” and yesterday, we featured the Real wedding of Louise and Ian in Durrow Castle…… which brings us to Friday and our FAB 5

Sticking to the Irish theme… we found 5 beautiful destination weddings in Ireland and had to share!

The French have a ball at this stunning wedding in Howth, Dublin

One of my favourite weddings of the year, held at the Village at Lyons

One Irish wedding tradition that I just love so much is that of the Magic Hanky. As you will have seen from our post yesterday and also last year, traditionally the handkerchief is usually part of the brides bouquet, incorporated into her dress, or kept up her sleeve. Well… we have found 5 other amazing ways to use the magic handkerchief! Read more…
