Q & A ✈ Louise Maxwell Hair & Makeup Artist

I first came across Louise Maxwell when I blogged this beautiful Waterside Ibiza Wedding by Ana Lui Photography and I was delighted when Lisa agreed to answer some questions for Fly Away Bride. I’m happy to be sharing her thoughts on destination wedding hair and makeup with you…

Can you tell us a little about yourself and what you offer?

Before moving to Ibiza over five years ago I had a successful career in London, working for private clients, as a session stylist and winning awards for my work. For weddings I offer a full hair and make-up bridal service and work with the best therapists/nail technicians should you want to have a little extra pampering.

Where are you based and what cities/countries are you available to for work in?

I’m based in Ibiza but I also work in Majorca, mainland Spain and the UK.

Rosa Carla 2011 Bridal Collection

As soon as I saw the Rosa Carla 2011 Bridal Collection my first thoughts were Prima Ballerina! The fitted bodice, full skirts, tulle overlays, satin ribbons and the classic neat bun are all so elegant and to me the essence of ballet style. I had to share..

The Urban Bride BHLDN

The web is a buzz with the new Urban bridal collection, BHLDN. Looking through the collection of beautiful designs I was struck by how I could immediately picture certain gowns in specific city destinations, an Urban bride is after all, well, Urban…

This Tiered Tulip Gown screams Carrie to me, a case of Bride and the City? The perfect bridal gown for a Manhattan wedding.

The Ribboned Silk Gown, so romantic and elegant, I think it would be stunning for a Venetian wedding and the feather finishes it off perfectly.

Take London in style in this amazing 50s inspired Tulle Era Dress, so retro!

Rome Bride ✈ Pretty Pretty Parasols

I have been toying with the idea of having parasols for myself and my bridesmaids at our Rome wedding this Summer. While we are getting married indoors and we’re hosting our dinner reception indoors we are having a drinks reception outside before the meal where hopefully the sun will still be shining and no doubt it will be very warm! I wasn’t sure if it would look too fussy but as soon as I saw this image from the BHLDN website my mind was made up, and now the search is on for the perfect parasols to keep us cool in the Roman sunshine…

Rangoli FAB Sponsor Spotlight ✈ Special 10% Discount Offer!

5449519648_89f97b22d3_o

Today I’m thrilled to welcome our newest sponsor Rangoli. Aisling from Rangoli is one very talented lady designing and producing stunning bespoke accessories for brides-to-be and their bridal party…

Can you tell us a little about your company and what you offer?

I set up my business Rangoli in 1998. I design bespoke bridal jewellery and hair accessories. Some designs are made from very fine crochet and others from woven beadwork. I also offer advice on styling your bridal look.

Where are you based and what cities/countries do you deliver to?

I am based in The Design Tower in the Dublin Docklands – I love my large showroom with vaulted ceilings! When clients visit, I spend time finding out all about their wedding plans. Together we pore over pictures, fabric samples and discuss hairstyles…it’s proper girly fun! Sometimes my job even involves suggesting wearing less accessories. I feel that bridal accessories should complement rather than take centre stage. For international enquiries or those unable to visit my showroom, we plan and discuss ideas by phone and email. So I deliver to anywhere in the world really!
