Guess what. It’s started. There is a man outside my office today and he is selling Christmas trees. Guess what else, I saw a woman buying one at 8.00am. It’s not even December but it seems every year, Christmas starts even earlier and I don’t mean the lights in town being switched on in October, people are out and about earlier, buying presents and getting organised in November! My friend has all of her shopping done already,  I’ve yet to even think about what everyone in my house is going to receive this year! Isn’t it great though in a way, completely mad but lots of fun and the mood lifts, even when there is a sting in the air. I felt that this morning too. When you think destination wedding, most of the time you think of a warmer climate but today’s wedding saw our Hungarian couple fly from their home country to celebrate their destination wedding in Sweden on a hazy winter’s day. There is just such a calmness and a stillness about the photographs that I couldn’t wait to share it.

Our  sweet couple today are Dora and Magnus and if taking on a destination wedding wasn’t a big enough event for one year, they decided to have it just before their son Hannes was due to be born! I really admire some people, how they take everything in their stride.

I love Dora’s bouquet. It nearly looks like cotton, doesn’t it?! It’s not too common for a wedding in Sweden that the guests would stay over at the venue but for Magnus and Dora, it was really important to choose a place where they could have their ceremony, reception and accommodation for their guests under the one roof and when they found Sigtunastiftelsen Hotel in a small town called Sigtuna barely a half hour away from Arlanda airport, well it ticked all of the boxes. It was warm and cosy and the surrounding countryside was perfect for their photographic session.

There is the still and calm in that last photograph taken by Lönnbacka Photography and be warned, you will need a few hours if you head over to their website as there is so much to see. Not always the most obvious destination choice, Sweden has so much to offer. I’ve only been once and I was taken aback by its beauty. Be sure to check out their venue, the Sigtunastiftelsen Hotell and we shall see you back here tomorrow to share the latest on our wishlist.
