I was really taken by yesterday’s wedding in Hvar, so much so that it inspired a palette of colours that I wouldn’t normally flirt with. I’ve never been inspired by turquoise, and have avoided it in the past, but after laying eyes on the tranquil waters of Croatia, I had to play around with the colour and then suddenly stopped when I realised that the colour was already there in the original images. The blue and green of the water, vivid against a hazy, peachy yellow sunset. My version is a strong colour palette calmed and balanced by natural beauty, driftwood, and unstructured, free falling flower arrangements. Best to recreate this look by using lots of tones in between the main two colour points and staying away from stark white back grounds in favor of natural beiges, greys and off whites.

Love this!! That mustard yellow goes so well with the tourquoise shade.

Thanks ladies! I’ll admit, it was a difficult one – totally out of my comfort zone those two colours but I am a little hoooked now! I bought turquoise jeans and a mustard cardigan today! Oh dear…
