Today we take a trip to the lovely island of Hvar, lying along the southern coast of Croatia in the Adriatic Sea. An island increasingly popular for destination weddings, it’s a place we’ve featured before– we always love to see weddings and shoots coming from Hvar with its beautiful scenery. Today’s shoot was captured by Cologne-based photographer Hanna Witte and conceived by wedding planner SOHO WEDDINGS & EVENTS, using a real couple as bride and groom. The idea was to portray a beach wedding that was also a relaxed party both at the shore and under the nearby olive trees. The vendors involved wanted to depict a sense of enjoyment with a proper slow-motion, laid back feeling. Set amongst the spectacular surroundings of the Hvar coast, the azure waters give a beautifully soft ocean feel. We love the palette of various shades of blue- light and grey blue table linen, indigo napkins with white bows, and turquoise plates matching the ocean waters perfectly. The stationery is acrylic glass printed with white text, mimicking clouds as well as embracing the water theme. Dainty glassware, rustic candles and pastel flowers make a lovely beach picnic. A large but simple wooden canopy bed with plain white fabric makes a wedding table as well as a lovely seat for bride and groom. To capture the feel of a relaxed afternoon Hanna the photographer played with the shadows of the olive trees in her images to make one immediately feel transported to a warm summer’s day. Lovely!
