Jef and Karen, from Belgium, married at Bagnoregio in Italy’s Lazio region last September. We love that they decided to have a destination wedding because it sounded adventurous- we also love the beautiful rustic but elegant details of this wedding, and the gorgeous ancient villa setting. Captured by Giulia Santarelli and planned by Giorga and Anna Veronica from Parade, this was always going to be a very special celebration.

“We met at a festival in Belgium called Vijverfestival and got engaged at a very romantic dinner at home. We decided to have a destination wedding for the adventure of it, plus we wanted something different than a traditional Belgium wedding. We used Giorga and Anna Veronica from Parade as our wedding planners and managed to find the perfect location in Bagnoregio. The challenges we faced involved the distance between Belgium and Italy, but Giorga and Anna Veronica did a great job overcoming that. The style we wanted was authentic and rustic Italian. Definitely our best decision was to have the wedding in Italy, and most memorable for us was the fact that all our friends and family made the trip to celebrate the week with us in Italy. We sent out invitations a year in advance so that people would have lots of time to plan. We have absolutely no regrets, and our only advice would be- listen to what the heart wants.”
