I’m so excited about featuring this Paris elopement today as this week, I’m going to book flights for early next year – yep, I’m finally on my way to Paris and I could burst with excitement as we have something pretty great planned! Yay! For today though, we are leaving you in the very capable hands of the Juliane Berry who spent one great day with Lauren and Brett in this amazing city. Lauren and Brett, who ditched their traditional wedding plans in Atlanta in favour of Paris, exchanged vows on the Pont des Arts and it’s so obvious that they had so much fun. In a very rare event on FAB, we are featuring this whole wedding in black and white, it’s like an old movie. Love it.
So how did these two love birds end up in Paris? We were dying to find out…
“The day before Brett and I were to put a deposit down on a venue in Atlanta, we decided to elope. We are not a traditional couple so we knew we did not want a traditional wedding. We had discussed visiting Paris and Amsterdam for our honeymoon after we got married, so Paris was the obvious choice for our elopement location. We were surprised at how much easier it was to plan a wedding in another country than to plan a more traditional wedding in the United States.”
“As soon as I saw Juliane Berry’s blog I knew I wanted her to shoot our wedding for us. Working with her was the best decision we made for our wedding. She made us so comfortable and we really enjoyed spending the day with her. Juliane suggested Location Rétro Mariage to hire a vintage car. Finding a hair stylist took a bit longer but I am happy I eventually found Lexi DeRock. She was wonderful to work with and even came to our flat to do my hair early in the morning. My dress was custom made by Ouma on Etsy. I loved wearing the dress and I think it was the perfect choice for a Parisian elopement!” – Yep, so do we Lauren, and the shoes?! PRETTY!
“Our ceremony on the Pont des Arts was exactly what we wanted in a ceremony – intimate, meaningful, and fun. We love the symbolism of the lovelock bridge and I am so happy we exchanged vows there. When we began exchanging vows, it was just the two of us but after our ceremony we realized we drew a bit of a crowd who had been taking pictures of us too! After the ceremony, we spent the remainder of the day being driven to various locations around Paris with Juliane taking pictures the whole way. We had a blast exploring the city and enjoying our newlywed status.”
Beautiful or what?! How cute is Lauren’s Eiffel Tower tattoo? Congratulations to them both on their wedding day and a big special thanks to Juliane, you really need to check out her new blog! We shall see you back here tomorrow for our Wednesday wishlist!
