Eugenie and Igor, from Moscow, married last August in a beautiful French château near Paris. The couple decided to have an intimate vow exchange ceremony before their honeymoon trip around northern France. Eugenie and Igor knew they wanted to marry in France, but it took some time for them to decide whether they wanted to have their ceremony in Normandy, the Loire Valley or in the Parisian region. They even considered Provence, but finally decided to stay closer to Paris for logistical reasons. Katerina of So Special Events tells us: “Eugenie didn’t want to have a glamorous ceremony in Paris with traditional photos near the Eiffel tower or Louvre. Instead, it was important for her to have an authentic venue with a wild nature (lakes and forests). After some research, I proposed Château d’Ermenonville, which is a 45 minute drive from Charles de Gaulle airport. The venue is absolutely beautiful, has a gorgeous terrace overlooking the lake and forest, where you can sip a glass of champagne and contemplate the nature. This château, which has been transformed into a hotel, has its own restaurant and offers around twenty rooms for guests. Eugenie and Igor arrived to the venue one day before their ceremony, where they spent two nights. In the morning, I came with flowers and accessories for the ceremony. The couple decided to have a small reception with champagne and local cheeses and fruits to celebrate the occasion, so I took care of preparation of a small cheese and fruits plate. After the vow exchange we headed for a romantic photoshoot with Margarita Boulanger. They explored the surrounds of the castle and then headed to the nearby village with its cosy homes and romantic hidden squares. It was perfect.”
