Where are you based and what cities/countries are you available to for work in?

We are based in Ireland (Dublin), Italy and Los Angeles. We also plan weddings for couples from all over the world (Irish, English, American, Australian, German, French, etc.).
We plan weddings in Italy and Ireland.

Can you tell us a bit about the Italy and why it is such a beautiful choice for destination weddings?

Italy is a good choice because it has an untouched feel to it. Real gorgeous Italian food, Italian people, romantic settings, lovely weather, and really high quality suppliers are also great advantages of a wedding in Italy.

Where is your favourite destination/location to plan a wedding and why?

Possibly Tuscany, Rome, Liguria and como lake. They are quite easy going places, uncomplicated for the couples to travel to, to understand and enjoy. In places like this what you see is what you get, The fact that they are also absolutely stunning locations definitely helps.

This classical wedding took place in a stunning villa on the hills surrounding the city of Florence, the church was just a hundred meters away, so for the guests it was a lovely stroll in the Tuscan sun of an autumn afternoon…

I also love planning and decorating weddings in Ireland too. We started this part of the business later, but I have to say it’s giving me lots of satisfactions!

Do you have any advice for couples planning a destination wedding?

Yes, don’t expect or ask for the same wedding you would get in your own country, it makes no sense, and you would never achieve the same result, anyway. If you make the decision to go to Italy, you have to accept and welcome the differences. Take the best that Italy has to offer and make the most out of it. Also get help from professional suppliers only, and do travel there at least once (twice is better) to make sure that everyone knows what they are supposed to be doing. Don’t give anything for granted. Planning the timing and logistics in detail is important. And don’t forget two more things: first, make it a really special day for your guests, and treat them to a lovely dinner and good quality entertainment; second it is your day after all so treat yourselves too.

Can you tell us a bit more about the person/people behind the business, how did you come to work in the wedding industry?

Desirée and I went to university together and always thought we would start a business together. We both gained experience in different jobs and different areas (fashion, music etc.) and eventually decided it was time to set up our company. We knew that the company would be about weddings and it was just a matter of choosing the name and getting started! Barbara came along later on, as an extra help for our “far away” brides.
We really like meeting our clients in their own city, when possible. For the brides, there is feeling of comfort to be able to sit down with your wedding planner and a coffee and go through the plans of your wedding instead of spending a year on the computer.

Have you got any exciting plans that you’d like to tell us about?

Yes, of course, we are always planning and challenging ourselves. We will soon have an online boutique with various different products that you can shop and use for your wedding. From various decorations, stationery, accessories, favors… it’s a lot of work to put together something like this, but we hope people will appreciate it!

Would you like to include a Special Reader Offer?

Why not! 20% off all for 2011 bookings. For those people who have started their own planning but have found it difficult, they can still call us and we will rescue them!
