Hello Friday! And hello June! Cannot believe we are halfway through the year tomorrow, time flies when you are having so much fun! I’m looking forward to our long weekend and hopefully Mr. Sunshine will be good enough to stick around. We are thinking of wiping down the BBQ…. em that’s if we can find it! Also on the cards is a weekend of baking. I made a cake a few weeks back for a charity day in work and it went down really well. I was totally surprised because not only had my sister in law and I half a bottle of wine downed when we started (it was one of those Thursday evenings!), but I am absolutely rubbish when it comes to baking as well! Of course with the wine came Ms. Cock of the Walk and not only did I decide I was baking the cake, but it was going to be one of those magnificent Naked Sponge Cakes from Call me Cupcake. Now, while it didn’t turn out as grand as it was meant to be, it wasn’t a complete disaster either and it got me thinking… if I can do it, anyone can! A wedding abroad brings many challenges if you don’t want to forsake details and finding the perfect wedding cake baker can be a challenge. So, if you are going abroad for your wedding and are staying somewhere where you have cooking facilities, the naked cake is completely do-able and it looks good. It might have been beginner’s luck for me and I would suggest trying it a few times at home first before deciding to make your own naked sponge wedding cake.

I might post a pic of how mine turned out over on our facebook page later on today!

Be sure to check them out, a great wedding week it was! We had our own jam packed week of wedding goodness so before we say our goodbyes, lets have a quick recap! On Monday, we kicked off with a trip to Venice in Italy to look at some perfect wedding venues. On Tuesday, we looked at the legalities of getting married in Croatia before sharing Greg and Sally’s destination wedding in Marbella, Spain. On Wednesday, we were thrilled to feature this stunning inspirational shoot featuring lilac so fresh, we could almost smell it! We rounded Wednesday off studying some geometric wedding ideas, covered in gold of course. Yesterday, this stunning wedding in Portugal left us smiling with sunshine and Amy gave some really useful tips with a guide on how to word your destination wedding invitations.

So, as you can see it was a busy week and we are really looking forward to the weekend. See you back here on Monday and have a FAB few days, whatever your plans are! x

Thanks Lauren! We loves them! The fresh flower toppers though are the business, they really make it! No problem, it was a beautiful shoot!

Yeah, both are lovely. It’s just a great option if you are not confident baking!

Stunning! Those cakes are simply amazing. They look delicious, but I wonder if I’d have the heart to eat them!

Thanks Elisa! I’m a bit like you – cut slices from the back so they still look pretty from the front :)
