French bridal fashion designer Mathilde Marie caught our eye in this styled wedding in Paris yesterday and we knew we had to have a closer look. Mathilde has created a range of gowns for the modern bride by using subtle vintage details with contemporary silhouettes. She embraces the idea of the dress that is brought out of the attic and given new life- a revisited work of art. The style is free and spontaneous with lots of lace, vintage and up-cycle details. The starting point for a gown can be one small detail, such as the shirtfront of a blouse, which the designer then elaborates on. Mathilde Marie wedding gowns are inspired by theatre, the dreams she had during childhood as well as fashion history. She first worked in children’s fashion along with film and costume design after graduating from ESMOD Paris and launched her own label in 2013.
