Hey hey! Hope your week is going great and that your plans are coming together for the weekend! Wedding season has kicked off so no doubt many of you are thinking of final touches for the big day. We haven’t touched on wedding hairstyles in a long time and today we wanted to share some of our inspiration finds for long hair with you. I’ve long hair and I prefer it down – when I’m wearing my hair up, it’s not a good day! I’ve never gone for an up-style for any event as I just don’t think they suit me but recently, the only wedding hair styles I’ve been drawn to on pinterest are the whimsy, low-tied buns and curled up-styles. It’s something I definitely want to try seeing as I’m one of those girls who has a headache within 5 minutes up wearing my hair high. If you are wearing a veil, a low tied style is a good option as the veil will sit well. Keep detail to the front of your face for when the veil comes off and although the look is loose and effortless, make sure it’s pinned well. So here they are, our low wedding hairstyle ideas for long hair.

I absolutely love this first low bun on the left, the swirl is so interesting and very romantic. Again, I love the curl detail on the right and this looks like a comfortable up-do, very important for your wedding day. A very simple low side bun as in below is effortlessly romantic, and a great option for a bride doing her own hair for her wedding abroad!

The next two up-styles are very good looks for the vintage bride and with the Great Gatsby hitting our screens this weekend, I think we can all expect this style to dominate another summer of weddings. This look will stand the test of time.

I love the way the veil hangs in the next image from Once Wed and the tutorial to go along with it is brilliant.

There are great sleek and sophisticated low up-style options too if you are hoping to put a modern spin on your look. The chignon and ballerina bun styles are so versatile and can be worn very neat or messy. Here are a few more variations on how you can wear your hair low.

Like anything, choose a hairstylist whose work you admire. Don’t be afraid to ask to see sample of their work and always have a hair trial! If you are doing your hair yourself, practice, practice and practice some more. Be mindful of the heat that you are going to be in if getting married abroad and use products that will combat hair falling down too quickly.
