Photographer Ana Lui recently visited Norway’s Oslo on a mini break but couldn’t stop herself from working while there: just too many beautiful shots to capture! Having chatted with couple Benedicte and Einar on Instagram, she asked them if they’d be interested in being photographed while she was in Oslo, and- having seen Ana’s work- they said yes immediately. The trio set out on a very cold (-17ºC) Saturday morning. They travelled to the area around the Akershus Fortress: the light was perfect, soft and crisp. According to Ana, “Snow and sun is simply the best combination!” Check out more from the happy couple below on how they met and their life in Norway.

“Benedicte and I have been together for two and a half years, and are currently living together in an apartment in Grünerløkka, Oslo- recently dubbed one of the world’s most “hipster” neighbourhoods. We actually met eight years ago for the first time. One of my best friends has a summer house in Lindens in southern Norway, where Benedicte comes from. I went with a couple of friends to visit my friend’s summer house; we invited Benny and some of her friends to come and hang out with us, and we all became friends. Several years passed without too much contact until I met Benny again in Oslo just at the start of my last semester as a student there. We instantly clicked and started dating, and never really stopped. So here we are. Now we live and work in Oslo, Benny as a musical artist, and I work in a bank. We are not engaged or married yet, but we are happier than ever and still going strong.

We do try to make the most out of living in such a unique and vibrant city: we go to concerts and fashion events, as well as enjoying each others company by checking in to different and cool places for food and drinks. Dressing up is of course a big part of it. Oslo is a special city with very distinct seasons. In the winter we find the slopes for both downhill and cross-country skiing just a 20-minute “T-bane” ride from the city centre. When the sun comes out in the summer, the many parks and cafés in the city get crowded. We often use the parks for sunbathing and having barbecue parties with friends.”
