Nothing puts a smile on our face like a really beautiful city engagement session and when you have someone like Ross Dean following you around to all of your favourite city spots taking it all in with you on his camera, well – it’s always going to be that little bit extra special! Quite the jet setters, Michelle and Ricky got engaged in London on New Years Eve and decided to have their engagement session there. They married in Portugal this summer and we can’t wait to show you their destination wedding but for now, we think you are going to enjoy these!
“We met in February 2008 on a night out in our home town. I was working for Virgin Atlantic at the time so most of my month was spent in another country, but after a few weeks of getting to know each other we were then pretty much inseparable. After 3 months together we went on our first holiday to New York and that’s when the love of travelling (in 4 and 5 star hotels) together started. After 6 months we moved in together and from then we both knew where our relationship was going. Our first Christmas was spent in Miami and New Year was in Los Angeles.”
“Fast forward to 2010 and we had bought our first home together, I had left Virgin and was planning on opening my own beauty salon. On New Years Eve we went to London to celebrate at a restaurant on the south bank by the London eye and all of the fireworks. After arriving mid afternoon and meeting with friends we went back to the hotel we were staying at by Tower Bridge and whilst getting ready, with a glass of champagne in (a very shaky!) hand, Ricky got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.”
“Whilst in the early stages of planning our wedding, we knew photography was something really important to us, after all it is one of the only things that you get to keep from the wedding day itself and that brings back so many amazing memories and emotions. Ross Dean came to take some publicity shots for my new salon and it was then that we got talking about the wedding. I was so impressed by Ross’ pictures and his friendly personality that we then had a chat to discuss him photographing our wedding.”
“London was the obvious option for our engagement shoot (New York was slightly too far to go!) as it meant so much to us due to our engagement. After a morning downpour (in early July), we managed to get out and about and had an amazing day. Although slightly embarrassing at first, Ross really put us at ease. It is so lovely to have pictures of the two of us that aren’t being taken by an extended arm! “
We can’t wait to feature Michelle and Ricky’s FAB wedding in Portugal later in the month – it’s just gorgeous. Well done and big thanks to Ross Dean, it’s out first time to feature his work and we are looking forward to the next. Have a great day folks!
