Kate and Jason’s dream of a small intimate destination wedding in Tuscany came true one sunny and warm day in September, after a year of planning all the way from Australia. Kate was very clear about the idea she had of the perfect wedding- olive trees, vineyards, a view of rolling hills, good and genuine local food, excellent wine, and a relaxed atmosphere. Everything went pretty much to plan on the day, as you’ll see from the photos. As their excellent photographer Lelia Scarfiotti says, “A bride getting ready in the turret of an ancient stone farmhouse, a touching and intimate celebration in a little country church, a long table decorated with wildflowers and surrounded by love and smiles, a few romantic decorative details, the terrific light of a breathtaking Tuscan sunset, and finally a wonderful party under the light of the full moon- purely Tuscany. Simply perfect.”

The couple’s plan not to do anything too fussy or formal worked out perfectly and Kate and Jason enjoyed their day with the most important people in their lives. Thanks to Lelia Scarfiotti for sharing these photos with us and to Kate and Jason. Don’t you just love that evening light?

Great pics, especially love the candid shot of the groom holding feeling his ring whilst holding a bottle of beer

Thanks guys, I know I probably shouldn’t admit this but I actually hadn’t noticed the groom toying with his ring in that shot! That does make it more nicely poignant though : )

Hi Niamh, the wedding took place in summer near the village of Sambuca which is about half an hour south of Florence. Congratulations on your engagement and what a great place to be getting married in! I would definitely give Villa Andrea a look if you like this wedding- I know Kate & Jason were really happy with it!
