When it comes to glamorous destination weddings, it’s hard to beat a palace as your setting. Today we take a trip to the wonderful Palace of Monserrate near the country’s capital city for this beautiful styled wedding. Sara the creator from Amor à Portuguesa tells us about the shoot: “Destination weddings are growing day by day and represent 10% of all weddings celebrated each year in Portugal. Not far from the historic center of the most romantic village of Sintra near Lisbon exists one of the most beautiful and charming places of Portuguese historical heritage: the Park and Palace of Monserrate. This unique 19th century construction was once the holiday destination of the Portuguese royal family. The Palace and Park are the perfect wedding venue for couples who dream of a romantic and mysterious celebration surrounded by deep greenery and magical light. The wonderfully ornate windows and decorated walls of the Palace and the ruins of the old chapel now engulfed by surrounding vegetation complete the picture and are a perfect backdrop for a memorable and overwhelming experience.

Such a magical setting requires an enigmatic bride. A two piece blush gown together with quirky accessories give frame to a bold and flawless bridal makeup look in shades of black and purple. Velvety textures, splashes of purple, deep red, greenery and pheasant feathers complete the whole floral design, bouquet and headpiece. Stationery and cake with a delicate sugar flower follow the aesthetic. The wedding, portrait and editorial film photographer, Miguel, captured every single detail with authenticity and charisma. His style is ethereal and evocative, and his photos depict this perfect wedding so well. When it’s a beautiful day and we get to do what we love, we sure can’t ask for any better result!”
