Some sunshine to brighten up your day… I’m thrilled to bring you Helen & Ruben’s white Ibiza beach wedding. Helen and Ruben met through friends: We probably knew that we were destined to be together on our first date when we gatecrashed a party in Soho Square by climbing over the wrought iron fence.  It was a good party and definitely worth the ladder in my tights.

They were married in a beautifully relaxed waterside ceremony at Cap de Falco, Ibiza in June, 2011. Helen wore this stunning Jenny Packham gown..

Ibiza was the first place where Ruben and I went on holiday together.  We fell in love with the island and went back with friends on a few occasions.  We talked about getting married there in a ‘this’ll never happen but wouldn’t it be great’ way.  We never thought we would actually do it as it would be too hard to organize and friends/relatives wouldn’t be able to come but when we started looking into it everything just fell into place.

They chose Ibiza Weddings to plan their wedding… We were lucky, the wedding organization went pretty smoothly. Kerry-Anne Winton at Ibiza Wedding, was amazing and we couldn’t of done it without her.

Instead of name cards on the tables we got all the guests to send us a photo of them as a child. We made all the photos the same size and changed the colour to black and white and put these on the tables where they would be sitting. It was a fun thing to do as everyone had to walk around until they saw their photo and found their seat, laughing at their fellow guests’ haircuts as they went…

Choosing to get married abroad was the best decision we made as it meant we had the wedding we truly wanted and were with all our favourite people for a whole week!

A Spanish guitarist to play a chilled sunset set and a flamenco group to entertain guests during dessert adding an exotic flavour to the evening. Then the DJ had the wedding party dancing in the sand until the early hours.

The honeymoon was probably the biggest challenge as we booked a trip to Japan 4 days before the tsunami. Whoops!

A big thank you to Helen and Ruben for sharing your story with us, it looks like you really had an amazing day!

I would like to know how did you ask your guests to all wear white? We are having our wedding in Bahamas and I would love for everyone to wear white but can not figure out how to ask my guests! Any suggestions?

Hi Maja- I’m not sure how Helen and Ruben arranged with their guests to wear white, but perhaps you could make a suggestion on your invitations that there will be a “white theme” to the wedding? Make sure the ladies understand that you won’t be offended if they wear white dresses too on your big day!
