This lovely couple Louise and Andre were visiting South Africa to plan their destination wedding there when their photographer Christine Meintjes shot this beautiful harbor engagement session.

I met Louise in a little coffee bar in London a few months ago. We had a cup of coffee and chatted about their wedding day. We shared some ideas and talked about flowers and colours schemes. Then she mentioned that she and Andre, her fiancé, would be in South Africa in November to check out their wedding venue. And so I set up an engagement shoot for them. The wind was crazy on the day, but we still had some fun in the little harbor of Struisbaai.

I think destination engagement sessions are a brilliant idea, they give you a chance to get know your photographer and feel more comfortable in-front of the lens before you big day, with the added benefit of beautiful images that you will always treasure.

Since getting married Louise has launched a new website bijoux bride, inspiration and advice for small but perfectly formed weddings and events. I look forward to bijoux bride becoming one of my regular doses of wedding inspiration!

Gorgeous photos – I especially love the fact that the sky isn’t picture-perfect blue, as it makes them so much more dramatic and interesting. They are such a cute couple, too!
