Why Friday, we meet again? It does’t seem a week since we saw you! Would you wear a green wedding dress? We have a few below you might consider. But first a round-up is in order. Saturday last brought a little 80s-yet-timeless romance with the song Romeo and Juliet, meanwhile our creative weekend exploits inspired the Life in Watercolour post on Monday. Tuesday we got a glimpse of some of the little-seen green bits of the island in our Hawaii engagement feature, and in the afternoon our Rome elopement may have been an elopement, but sure had enough spectators along the way! Wednesday we really enjoyed getting wedding inspiration from the film Amelie for our Wishlist. And finally yesterday morning Belfast was our destination for our real wedding feature, while in the afternoon we looked at fun American wedding traditions from the South.
Time for a few weddings that caught our eye this week:
✈ LA Indie-Inspired - Actress and director marry in a warehouse with pretty details.
✈ Paris elopement at the Medici Fountain – I chose this one for the bride’s chic dress and cover-up.
✈ Wedding in a yurt - A yurt is a sort of tent-like structure in case you were wondering. I was.
✈ Colorado mountain wedding – A pretty village setting and shockingly blue bridesmaid dresses.
✈ Perfume advert inspired wedding – Well it’s hard to go wrong when the entire bridal party look like models (do I sound bitter?). The bridesmaid dresses and necklaces are beautiful though (below).
Friday Fashion ✈ The Green Wedding Dress
As a tribute to one of our great style icons who passed away last year, today we’re taking a look at the green wedding dress- for those of you who may be daring enough to go for it! In 1959 Elizabeth Taylor wore a green gown at her wedding to Eddie Fisher (her third husband, the producer Mike Todd had died in a plane crash over a year previous to this marriage). She went on to marry four more times, although two of these times were to Richard Burton. We say fair play to her, we love her ‘gumption’ (as the southern gal would say) and her style!
The above Jenny Packham dress is our favourite. And a definite green too- the following are apparently in the green category, but we could see how one could be on the fence regarding their hue…
The above left dress is a Carolina Herrera, worn by Cynthia Nixon (Miranda from Sex and the City) on her marriage and is supposedly green- looks more yellow to me? Anyway the important thing is- well, that it’s Friday! Have a great weekend!
