C’mon Friday! How are you doing! It’s Lindsay here stepping in for Roisin. As an event manager (we used to work together back in the day) she is smack bang in the middle of mental season. I don’t envy her right now and offered to fill in today but I do have my eye on the clock as this weekend is going to be a very exciting one. Mulled wine, Christmas tree cutting, marquee light making and wedding dress shopping (not my own wedding dress, just in case some of my friends are scratching their heads!) are all on the cards and I feel like I’m sitting around waiting for the school bell to ring. Thankfully, I’ve lots of planning to keep me amused and some glamorous bridal gloves to show you- but before I do any of that, let’s take a look back on the week that was.
Last Saturday was our first official birthday. We waved a sad farewell to Pamela and recapped on a wonderful year. I also had the pleasure of introducing you to my new partners in crime, Amy and Roisin. It was back to the inspiration board as usual on Monday and Amy presented us with some helpful facts and beautiful images of a fab favourite, the poppy flower. On Tuesday, we shared the wonderful wedding of Nick and Candice who chose Dublin as their wedding destination. On my wishlist this Wednesday was marquee light signs. I really hope they are easy to make as I’d like a few of them. Yesterday, we brought you the beautiful wedding of Sarah and Chris in Tuscany. Sarah wore a beautiful Jenny Packham gown and I love that she went for it and wore a bright pink lip.
Now, on to the hardest job of the week, picking our FAB 5 weddings from around the web..

I know some of you in the US are experiencing warmer weather than usual for this time of the year but I can tell you something, even though the sun is shining this morning, winter has definitely not forgotten about us over here in Europe. I sat for 10 minutes in the car yesterday evening before I could convince myself that it would be a better idea to get out of it and run to my front door. The wind slapped me in the face. It was Baltic. Last weekend was no different and as I attended a family wedding on my boyfriend’s side, I looked on at the beautiful bride Elaine with absolute admiration and pride. Yes, pride. It was the first Irish wedding I was ever at in winter where the bride had the sense to wear something over the dress, inside the church. She wore a beautiful jacket made out of left over fabric from her 1950’s style dress and when the ring was firmly on the finger, she put on the most beautiful pair of bridal gloves. She is my new style icon and the inspiration behind our fashion slot today. The gloves are definitely on!
These beauties above are from BHLDN. You can always relay on finding what you are looking for on BHLDN and trust me, pretty bridal gloves are hard enough to come by.
I particularly love these leather gloves with the suede bow on the wrist. I actually own the wool ones on top in navy and they are very easy to wear and if you want to up it in the fashion stakes, these punched suede gloves are sure to impress. All three pairs are from Accessorize and they have so many different styles and colours to chose from. A chic pair of gloves is a great opportunity to introduce some colour and you will find plenty of options over on Accessorize.
So I know the stunning sleeve glove above will not keep you warm but honestly, how was I ever going to be able to exclude it? It is the most perfect piece of art. Incredibly expensive no doubt but I thought, you might be able to customise a pair of lace gloves with some stones and beading if you have the time and patience. Etsy is another great resource and you are sure to pick up a pair if you have time to look around. I also saw some really lovely mint green ones there this morning, I suspect they will be quite popular for next year given that green is set to trend for 2013. Not forgetting the boy, House of Fraser and all good department stores have a good selection of gloves and many high street stores stock them this time of year. I was in Zara last night and they had plenty on show. Don’t go for white though. Bit girly and he won’t appreciate it.
Have a great weekend and we will be back with a wedding tune that has made our playlist tomorrow.
