Hello all and Happy Friday! I must say, it really is getting autumnal out there. Autumn/winter is my favourite time of year. Gone are the days of bare legs and t-shirts and back in are black tights, leather boots and woolly hats. We’ll take you away from the cold rainy weather today and focus on summer wedding gowns with some gorgeous backless wedding dresses. First let’s go over what we covered. Monday we started off the week by looking at some gorgeous flower inspiration. Tuesday gave us a look at a destination engagement session by Lisa O’Dwyer in the beautiful village of Howth. Our Wednesday Wishlist looked at getting creative with wedding decor using pretty oriental ideas. Yesterday we featured a stunning destination wedding in Italy. The venue, the couple, how the photographer Gianluca Adovasio captured the day, made us all sigh!
Friday’s FAB 5
✈ An amazing remote island wedding – The bride arrived by helicopter
✈ A crafty wedding – The top table backdrop is amazing
✈ A beautiful woodland wedding – Wild flowers, fairylights and bunting
✈ A Washington DC wedding – The bride wore an incredible wedding dress
✈ A Malibu elopement – Just the Bride and Groom
Friday Fashion ✈ Backless Wedding Dresses
I’ve been thinking for a while about this post and through my research I found myself being drawn to beautiful images of backless dresses. If you’re looking to make a statement with your wedding dress and want the wow factor on your big day a backless dress could be an option. If you do dare to bare the flesh you could go for a spa treatment such as a full body scrub or a body wrap to buff the skin and make it backless dress worthy. (Get a massage while you’re there, after all, you deserve it after all the wedding planning!) Alternatively, there are at home treatments which are far more inexpensive, try Clinique’s Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliator or on the cheaper scale, Sanctuary Body scrub from Boots.
There are loads of different types of backless wedding dresses out there and some people would prefer to have more coverage. If you would like to go for more coverage go for some intricate lace detailing instead of full skin on show. Unfortunately we’ve found since publishing this post that Wanda Borges, the designer of the dress below, does not ship outside of her home country Brazil. But- if you love the gown, why not take the photo to your local dressmaker and see if they can re-create it?
