Last week was so great! We got to spend hours oohing and aaahing over the latest and greatest from New York Bridal Week and while many of the trends set for SS 2013 are to run through to the AW collections, we did notice that there is a bit more leg on show for next year but shoulders for the most part are to remain beautifully covered in delicate lace, and intricately embellished capped sleeves that got even longer. There really was something for everyone with Claire Pettibone’s collection offering whimsical romance plucked straight from a dream, and from colour to the classic (and white) layered skirts and the timeless elegance of Vera Wang’s collection. But today, I’m sharing my own personal wishlist from last weeks bridal event – the dresses that I would want to wear myself. In no particular order..

There is no denying that I’m drawn to particular designers and Temperley has long been one of them. I adore both of the dresses above, the simplicity of the cut on the left and that gorgeous sheer neckline with beautiful detailed sleeves on the right.

Marchesa never disappoints for me and had one of my favourite collections, and possibly dress of the AW 2013 runway shows in New York. Top left, the high sweetheart lace neckline and the draping and gathering of the skirt would be so easy to wear. On the right, I wouldn’t normally be drawn to such a full skirt but I think it’s balanced so well by the bold detail in the lace and the long sleeves. And above – well I think this is one of my firm favourites. I can’t take my eyes off the shoulders of this beauty and the skirt is more what I’d wear, it flows but isn’t too full.

It was all about long sleeves, demure necklines and different skirt styles for Monique Lhuillier. The added tulle skirts replace the need for a veil on both dresses above and I really love the introduction of the slit in the skirt above. The covered neckline balances the sexiness of the skirt for me.

Quite varied dress styles for Reem Acra but each as beautiful as the last. On the top left, well – I think this my shape of dress really, I’m always drawn to detail in a dress that is overall, not a fussy shape. On the right then, it wouldn’t be my type of wedding day dress but it would certainly be beautiful for the day after (if I could only afford two!). I think it would work so well for a city chic wedding. The peplum style is so modern but the lace, it’s always so romantic. The above left – this beauty stole the show. The illusion neckline is dotted with crystal and I love the pleats and shimmer of the fabric. And above right – I’m really enjoying the skirt on this dress and quite to my surprise! Perfect for a destination wedding maybe?!

I always like to save the best for last and well I think that Jenny Packham will always be my favourite designer, equally for her dresses as for her bridal accessories. I adore the longer sleeves on the dress top left. The embroidery is just exquisite. Again, it’s all about the shape for the next three dresses but I love the high V neckline and the embellished sleeve top right. Bottom left might look a bit familiar as it was a similar style seen on The Duchess of Cambridge but in green earlier this year. A beautiful bridal gown. And perhaps my wildcard to finish… I actually think I love this dress on the bottom right too much to ever wear it. I don’t know if I would actually wear it because it is so embellished, but I’d happily stare at it for longer than I’d like to admit!

So….. there is my personal round up but I’d highly recommend checking out the rest of the collections, all entirely stunning in their own right. See you back here tomorrow for some more real destination wedding goodness!
