I’m more than in love with today’s couple and every single detail of their wedding in Marrakesh! You will find it no surprise when you scroll through image after image to learn that our bride, Sophie works in the fashion industry. She and her lovely husband Alex, travelled from England to celebrate their summer wedding in a Kasbah style villa in the Palmeraie, Marrakesh.  Their brief was simple, they wanted their wedding to be relaxed and lots of fun for their guests and their planners, Boutique Souk didn’t disappoint.

Sophie spent the night before the wedding with her maid of honour at a nearby hotel and the next morning, she was joined by her mother and four other bridesmaids for their bridal preparations. Back at the wedding venue, Alex enjoyed a relaxed morning with his groomsmen. They soaked up the sun and cooled off in the pool and oversaw the production and decoration of the venue. Alex, the ‘art director’ and Sophie the ‘stylist’ had a lot of input into the aesthetic of the event.

A stylish bridal party for sure! Sophie looked stunning in Delphine Manivet while her bridesmaids were dressed in tiffany blue Jarlo dresses, complete with pink bouquets – a classic colour combo. Alex and his groomsmen did try to give the girls a run for their money and are certainly one of the trendiest bunch of lads we’ve see here at FAB.

The couple were dedicated to creating the right sort of atmosphere for their guests. Fans provided for the ceremony had slogans ‘call me’ and ‘smile’ written on them and the Tiki cocktail bar was themed with waiters walking around in Hawaian shirts serving fizz and mojitos to reggae and ska playlists. After dinner, boxes full of silly outfits for dressing up in were placed around the dance floor area and shisha chill out lounge. The night came to a close with the bride joining her guests fully clothed in the swimming pool!

Following the Moroccan supper of Mezze and Tajine of Beef, Sophie who will admit to having a super sweet tooth decided on a Marie-Antoinette like dessert buffet.  Macarons in vibrant colours, pistachio cup cakes, A Fraisier Strawberry Cake, Chocolate ‘Opera’ cake and loads of fresh fruit adorned the tables. And my mouth is literally watering…

They finished the night off with a show of belly dancers and a shisha bar so that their guests had a truly Moroccan experience before Sophie, our new bridal idol jumped into the pool with all of her guests. Now that’s how to trash the dress! Big congrats to Sophie and Alex and a mega thanks to them, Boutique Souk and Contemporary Wedding Photography for letting us share their ultimate Moroccan wedding.

I think we have never properly thanked you for publishing it. At least not via comment box. Well, better late than never – thanks so much for the post. Sophie and Alex were such a beautiful couple.
