For as long as I can remember, green has always been my favourite colour and I’m not sure why because I never ever wear it (although, I have been eying up this emerald green dress on my Pinterest Style Board for well over 4 months now, I think it’s time to purchase!). Emerald Green is the Pantone Colour of the Year for 2013 and and we are really hoping it will start to feature in this year’s weddings. So, how to style an emerald wedding? It’s such a dominant colour and very easy to get wrong, (Em.. flashback of my aunts emerald green wedding when I was a child, I was flower girl – someone remind me to put up a picture on our facebook page later for a good giggle!) and this post has come with a lot of thought and consideration as how to best include it as part of your wedding colour palette. We came up with three boards but this one was definitely our favourite. We chose to pair this gemstone with natural stone and leafy green tones and the result, although striking has a soft calmness about it. You can achieve this look by using excess greenery in floral arrangements, neutral textured fabrics, and surfaces as back ground focus points and a few key emerald green pieces as the features.

The dress above is absolutely beautiful and it reminds me of Keira Knightly’s backless number in Atonement. Emerald Green is an incredibly flattering colour and will suit any skin tone and hair colour. From blondes to fiery red heads, if you want to make a big statement for your wedding this year, take inspiration from Elizabeth Taylor and this bride who changed into her green, sequined Jenny Packham.
