HOW THEY MET

“It’s such a classic story: we met in a club in Singapore. He asked my friend to introduce us, meanwhile I had noticed him too! After that the rest is history. Our engagement story started when Marc booked a private beautiful candlelit dinner in the St Regis hotel in Singapore. We had a private waiter and a live performer with a piano: it was so beautiful and romantic. After the main course the waiter came over with a cake. There was something inscribed on the cake: “Dhina will you marry me?” It was the happiest day of my life. I was speechless and nervous, but knew the answer. Marc went down on one knee with a beautiful Tiffany ring, and I said yes!

ENGAGEMENT PHOTO SESSION

We really wanted to have beautiful pictures to capture our love: something to share with our family, friends and our future children. We chose the location for the photo session by listing places we love and googling some pre-wedding photo sessions. Then we shared our findings with our great photographer Gabby, and asked for her advice and suggestions.

HAVING A PHOTO SESSION: DHINA’S TIPS

Be sure to check the weather and be mindful of what season it is in the place you travel to. Do some research first for engagement pics so you know what kind of photos you really want to get. Share your ideas with your photographer, and be open to any suggestions or advice they might have. Parking can be a problem, so having someone who can drive you from one location to another is great, if that’s possible (my lovely in-laws drove us around). Bring comfortable shoes! I also changed into a few different dresses during the day. Having a make up artist along to help you change and touch up your hair and makeup is super great, if you can have that too! The last thing is just enjoy the photo session and  just be yourselves.

WEDDING PLANS

We got married on the fifteenth of August this year on Paradise Island in Bali. It was a stunning location: the Semara Luxury Villa Resort. No words can describe how beautiful it was. I hired the best wedding planner and they were so professional. They really listened to what we wanted and made it all real. And Axiioo and Bali Metro video did their best to capture every lovely moment that day. The decor was beautiful, it was perfect, sunny but breezy weather. We said our vows at the pool of a cliff top villa in front of our friends and family, then had cocktails at sunset. I invited close friends and family only, a total of 110 people so the wedding dinner felt warm and intimate, and afterwards we had beautiful fireworks during our first dance. It was perfect!”
