Sarah and John eloped from North Carolina in the US to marry amidst the astounding scenery of Cappadocia in Turkey. The couple decided to travel with just their photographers, BlueSky Studio, in order to spend some time exclusively with each other and really focus on the importance of their marriage. We love Sarah’s fitted platinum gown and her cathedral veil was hand made for her in Turkey. Cappadocia’s rock formations and mountains at sunset made an absolutely perfect setting for a wedding ceremony, as you’ll see.

Sarah and John first met on St Patrick’s Day. They immediately felt a connection but it was only after another few months of chance meetings that they started going out. The couple got engaged on Valentine’s Day (John’s birthday) when they were out celebrating his birthday with friends. John had wrapped Sarah’s ring in a huge box and addressed it to himself as a birthday gift. He opened it in front of everyone, and when Sarah realised what was going on he got down on one knee. Everyone cheered in the restaurant, and Sarah of course said yes.

Sarah found her bracelet in the Turkish markets in the days leading up to the wedding and had henna done the night before in keeping with Turkish tradition. The couple wrote their own vows the morning of the wedding, and their ceremony took place overlooking the rock formations and mountains of Cappadocia at sunset that evening. They met on the aisle and then walked together to the altar, and afterwards their wedding dinner was a candlelit al fresco affair in a glass enclosure positioned on the side of a mountain overlooking Cappadocia. Family and friends had mailed them postcards with good wishes which they read by candlelight over dinner. Their first dance was lit by the the twinkling lights of Cappadocia. Perfect or what?
