Do you remember last December when we featured the beautiful engagement session of Chris and Lacey? This beautiful couple told us their FAB story then but to refresh your memory, it goes a little something like this! Lacey and Chris came to Ireland from Florida on a bus tour. They traveled all around, fulfilling their life long dream of seeing Ireland but on their two days off, they made their trip extra special by having an engagement shoot in The Guiness Storehouse on the first day and getting married on the second! I know! Pretty adventurous stuff! They were joined by 9 of their closest family members. Lisa O’Dwyer was on hand for both the engagement session and this FAB wedding in Coolcarrigan.

Coolcarrigan is a private country house and estate that has been in the same family since the early 1800s. There is a small chapel on the grounds from the early 20th century decorated in a historic Celtic style. The 1st president of Ireland, Douglas Hyde, consulted on the Gaelic scripts on the inside walls! They were given permission to get ready in the house, decorated in the style of the early 19th century.

It’s simple touches like this that I love, the green sash is so pretty.

The chapel on the grounds of Coolcarrigan is so picturesque and an ideal choice if you are looking for something very intimate and special.

The simplicity of this wedding makes it so incredibly beautiful. Sometimes all you need is a venue that is perfect for you, a photographer that just get’s who you both are and lots of love. We will leave you today with some parting words from the bride..

“Soon after we got engaged, we began looking at places to get married and realized how stressful planning a wedding is. I never really wanted a big wedding because it seemed like the focus gets taken away from the bride and groom. So we began looking into destination weddings and how to go about having one. I suggested Ireland to Chris because it has always been a dream vacation for both of us. It just felt right. With the help of luck and Google, I found our photographer, Lisa O’Dwyer and also the property of Coolcarrigan, which is owned by the Wilson-Wrights. We chose Lisa because we loved her elegant, storytelling style of taking photos. We chose Coolcarrigan because it looked so beautiful and private. We liked that the church was simple, yet had so much character and beauty. We couldn’t have been happier with the hospitality of the Wilson-Wrights and also the gorgeous pictures and sweetness that we received from Lisa. We truly had a special day and being at Coolcarrigan and meeting Lisa was the highlight. I would definitely do it again and I would advise any couple to have a destination wedding. It was much easier, cheaper, and more unique and intimate than having a big wedding at home. Plus, people are very jealous of you when you get back home”
