Without a doubt, New Zealand was one of our favourites on our world trip this past year and we are really looking forward to the day we get to go back. I’d have no idea where to start if I were to begin describing how utterly beautiful the whole country is! One of the highlights was getting to meet and work with some of New Zealand’s finest wedding vendors and I even had the privilege of styling not one, but two shoots with them. The original plan was to do one shoot only, but veils from Percy Handmade failed to make it on time. When Claire from We Are Wildwood received them in the post the following day, she was so struck by their beauty that she text me to see if we could go again and do another shoot the following week. I needed no convincing and quickly sent a message to Shay and Caroline to see if they were available. The idea of mixing in a little sensuous bridal boudoir session came when I visited A La Robe in Auckland. Elizabeth has the most gorgeous bridal shop there, with a very pretty painted wall. I was so enamoured by the beautiful lace and sheer fabrics that layer in her designs that we wanted to do something a little more playful but still very elegant and with lovely Kelsey as are model, we knew she would do them justice. Our backdrop was in Tauranga in the North Island at the stunning Willowdene, a wonderful house with even lovelier hosts.
This shoot was featured two weeks ago on Magnolia Rouge – how lucky are we? And, we are thrilled that the first New Zealand shoot will feature on their next magazine in a few months time!
