Today’s love story began back in 2005 when Emma, from Ireland, met Hagos in Rome. It took them only one summer to fall in love. I think you sometimes learn or realise your feelings a little bit faster when you are so suddenly separated from that person and as Emma said goodbye at the end of August, they both just knew that they were meant for each other. Fast forward 5 years of managing a long distance relationship and plenty of moves later, Hagos took Emma back to where they first met – the Colosseum in Rome and in the middle of the pouring rain, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. With tears to match the rain, Emma said yes and here we are today, sharing their beautiful Rome Wedding with you all.
Emma makes for such a beautiful bride and you might think that her fairytale dress was made for her – well actually, it was! Designed and handcrafted by Irish Designer, Mary Rose McGrath, we adore her full tulle skirt, open back and bow detailing. Throw on a pair of Badgley Mischka’s and there you have it, princess bride.
The Church of Santo Stefano deli Abissini in Rome is where they exchanged vows. Isn’t it beautiful?! Interestingly enough, this is the oldest church inside the Vatican and is over 800 years old.
Emma and Hagos had their portraits taken in the Vatican Gardens before heading to their wedding reception on the rooftop terrace of the Marriott Grand Hotel Flora on Via Vittorio Veneto, which provided a spectacular and perfect view over the city of Rome.
Where it all began…
Huge congratulations to Emma and Hagos and thank you for sharing your beautiful Rome wedding with us today. Of course, we wouldn’t have had a story to tell with Jay Studio, check them out! We will see you back later for some travel themed inspiration.
