It’s been a while since we’ve had an opportunity to feature a Trash the Dress session but it has certainly been worth the wait! Anna and Rafal married in Poland but honeymooned in Portugal and while there, decided that it was the perfect opportunity to Trash the Dress. Rita and Ricardo, the deadly duo behind R2Arte spent the day showing Anna and Rafal the sights of Lisbon and bhoy, does it look like they had fun!

The beautiful fishing village of Cascais hosted Janne and Jespers fete where 80 guests flew in from all around the world to hear this Danish couple say “I do”. The ceremony took place in the historic 17th century chapel of São Sebastião located in the breathtaking gardens of Parque Marechal Carmona. Miki and Paulo’s wedding was sent to us all the way from Portugal by Quem Casa Quer Fotos and there are just so many things that I love about their wedding, I’m not too sure where to start. Not only did they manage to incorporate three different cultures into their big day (Paulo’s parents are Portuguese and Miki is Japanese) they planned everything from the UK. Miki tells us how this loved up pair got together…..
We are flying to Portugal today and in particular, to small town called Vila Praia de Ancora near the beach in the North of Portugal. Our couple, Brian and Vera who have been together for 6 years, travelled all the way from NYC for their big day which was captured by the very talented Lounge Fotografia.
The boys are up first and remind us just why we love destination weddings.. there is something about the sun and being away that allows us all to chill out, relax and enjoy ourselves.
We have an incredibly fun post for you today and think it might even encourage you to get out and about for some merriment on this sleepy Saturday morning. Luis from Lounge Fotografia sent me a vibrant, colouful and down right deadly trash the dress shoot earlier this week and I’ve had to wait for our “Local Inspiration” day to show it to you. Lounge Fotografia are based in Infesta, near Porto in Portugal and we are so thrilled to be showing you Claudia and Hugos photosession as it is not one that is hugely popluar outside of the States. Oh and it is our first Trash the Dress at FAB! Be warned, this is not for the faint of heart and we certainly hope you like roller coaster rides!

Every now and then we receive gorgeous weddings that are not strictly “destination” in the sense that the bride and groom are locals but the thing is, they are locals in cities and countries that don’t get featured enough on blogs around the world but also happen to be very popular cities and countries for destination weddings… so we have decided that we are most definitely going to feature them as they are an incredible resource for choosing things like the perfect venue, florist and hair stylists etc. So today, we are very excited to show you the wedding of a Portugese couple, Joana and Mário’s who were married in the gorgeous city of Lisbon, Portugal. Their photographer, André of Arc Fotografia captured all the magic of this “Midsummer Night’s Dream” inspired wedding.

Hilary and Peter got married in September 2010 in front of 150 friends and family, most of whom had flown out from Ireland for the event. In true Irish style there was lots of laughter, tears, singing, dancing and, or course, the drinks were freely flowing!
The wedding and reception took place in a small town close to Sintra, Portugal at the Paço d’Ilhas Guest House, the partially restored ruins of a 16th century palace and chapel. The entire event was outdoors, with the ceremony in amongst the walls of the ruins and the reception dinner-and-dancing in the gardens of the guest house.
