We’re jetting off to Morocco today for Rosanne and Harry’s Old Town destination wedding. The couple who live in Manchester, Roseanne (Irish) and Harry (English) discovered Marrakech on holiday and fell in love. Their wedding photographer Virginie Faucher shares all the details of their wedding day…
Rosanne and Harry really wanted to have their reception inside the Medina, the old town of Marrakech. They picked up Riad Cinnamon, a luxury boutique hotel located in a quiet district with a very unique and exotic atmosphere where both they could stay together with their families in the 5 fabulous suites.

Rosanne has this big Julia Roberts smile, and she’s such a funny person. She did her hair and make-up herself with the help of her younger sister, in 30 minutes while welcoming their cousins who just arrived from a riad nearby where most of the guests were accommodated, and fixing up last minute details before rushing to the Catholic Church where Harry, the groom, was waiting for her anxiously!

Today we have wonderfully intimate destination wedding to share in the wonderfully eclectic Marrakesh. Being only a three-hour flight away from the UK, this is a great choice for a destination wedding. It’s ideal both for a small, intimate wedding and for larger celebrations with family and friends. Darin and Matthews’ photographer Virginie Faucher tells us more about this FAB wedding…
Darin and Matthew live in Nottinghamshire. They came from UK to Marrakesh on holiday and fell in love with the magic of it and decided to plan their wedding there.
Darin was a very relaxed bride, getting ready in her room. She was with her two bridesmaids, one of them was Darin’s daughter, these two just looked like sisters!

Today we are delighted to feature Clare and Richard’s stunningly colourful Moroccan destination wedding, a real feast for the senses! Clare and Richard travelled from England to celebrate with family and friends, 52 in all, in the exquisite mature gardens and grounds of the home of a French art and antiques collector in the Palmeraie (palm grove) of Marrakech…

Clare and Richard, met at work and bonded over their love of travel and adventure, a conventional English wedding was not for them, and so they chose Marrakech as their destination, having fallen in love with the exoticism of the city during their travels.
Formerly the home of a French art and antiques collector, the luxury villa which they chose as their wedding venue hosts exquisite mature gardens and grounds and a warm, private home feeling. With 8 suites and rooms, all of their close family members were accommodated onsite and enjoyed the pool and gardens throughout the weekend.
The bridal suite with its antique décor, tiling, stained glass windows, art deco bathroom and terraces and balconies overlooking the gardens was the perfect setting for Clare’s preparations…

When this spectacularly colourful and exotic wedding arrived in my inbox my heart fluttered. I am thrilled to be sharing it with you today courtesy of the fabulous Boutique Souk.
Stephanie a fashion journalist and stylist from London and Anand also from London have recently moved to Hong Kong and have a large network of International friends. They chose Marrakesh for their wedding destination its warm climate and exotic surroundings and because they wanted their wedding to reflect their passion for travel. Stephanie had her heart set on a weekend of outdoor dining on balmy evenings and day times by the pool with all the family. They wanted two distinct weddings reflecting their English and Indian heritage with a religious traditional Indian wedding on the Friday evening and a classic white wedding on the Saturday.

Boutique Souk’s decorated Dar Sabra for the ceremony and dinner. A traditional ‘Mandap’ was erected for the ceremony, draped in fuchsia pink fabrics with fuchsia and pale pink roses. Guests were seated on transparent napoleon chairs under swathes of pink tenting to protect them from the end of the day sun. Brightly coloured carved wooden fans were placed on the seats – a memento from the couple’s recent trip to Cambodia.

Following tradition, the groom and his family were warmly welcomed to Dar Sabra by the bride’s family and friends. Stephanie, embracing the Moroccan culture, made her entrance in a style typical of a Moroccan wedding; she was carried in on an Amari throne, heralded by trumpeters…

While doing some blog surfing last week I came across Huda and Valerio’s Marrakech Palace Hotel Wedding on OMG I’m Getting Married and my jaw nearly hit the floor! Their reception is so so stunning, the flowers amazing and the venue just beautiful, luxury at it’s finest!
When I saw that Boutique Souk had planned Huda and Valerio’s wedding I immediately jumped onto their website where I spent quite some time swooning over the beautiful wedding images. Intrigued about their service and the exotic weddings they have planned I contact Rosena, who also happens to be Irish, and asked if she could tell me more about Boutique Souk and what is involved in planning a wedding in Morocco…
Can you tell us about Boutique Souk and what you offer?
We are a bespoke wedding planner, creating special events here in Marrakech and also at the coast and Atlas mountains of Morocco. We have an international team, headed by Irish woman Rosena McKeown.

Where are you based and what cities/countries are you available to plan weddings in?
We are based in Marrakech providing a hands-on service for planning and also during the wedding event. We also plan in other popular Moroccan destinations such as Essaouira (the coast) and the Atlas Mountains.
Can you tell us a bit about Marrakech and why it is such a beautiful destination choice for weddings?
Marrakech is an exotic choice for a destination wedding, it has become increasingly hip due to the all year sunshine, stunning venues and locations – palaces, Riads, spectacular gardens filled with Roses, Palm and Olive Trees and of course low cost travel making it accessible for guests
