We have an absolute beauty for you today. Weddings come in all shapes and sizes and today’s wedding is a blissfully romantic elopement. Laura and David chose Paris as the perfect location to have their engagement shoot last year. They fell so in love with la ville des lumières that as soon as they got home and opened their beautiful engagement photographs, they decided that they were going to elope and return to Paris to be married. We have been huge fans of One and Only Paris, a wonderfully dynamic photographic duo, so when we received this email submission from Audrey, we knew that this wedding was going to be something special. Laura spent the morning getting ready in Shangrila Hotel with the help of Marie Emilie from Mon plus beau jour before their beautifully intimate ceremony in Chapelle Expiatoire.

Today’s destination wedding is completely worthy of French romance and we have the images to prove it! Yes, Therese Aherne is making her long-awaited FAB début and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Simon and Jo along with their wedding planner Claire organised this stunning wedding from Ireland and made the brilliant decision of flying Therese to France with them to capture their three day soirée (can you tell I’m practicing my French words today?!). The view will take your breath away.

Well I’m just back from my holidays and had a great time and you know what, it’s not so bad coming home when I get to look at pretty things everyday and today is no exception! Yesterday we showed you a masterpiece of a movie by Studio Artifice and today, we are incredibly lucky to be able to share the stunning photographs. I fell head over heels for this wedding the first time I watched the movie and well, when I saw that Studio Cabrelli were the photographers on the day, had to have the images to share! And here they are!

I have been looking forward to sharing this AH-maazing movie with you guys for too long now but finally the day has come! We all know the love affair that I am having with Paris for a number of months now but to say that it has stepped up a notch after seeing today’s movie would be quite the understatement… I’m now not only contemplating visiting Paris but moving there instead! Tam and Russell made quite the trip, travelling all the way from Australia to say “I do” but my gosh… it looks like it was worth every mile! Get your tissues and popcorn to the ready, sit back, relax and most importantly…enjoy!
We have more coming up on this wedding later in week as we also have the beautiful photographs to share so keep an eye out!

When I first laid on eyes on Maria Anais and Benjamins wedding – my jaw fell to the floor and it’s remained there ever since. This stunner of a wedding has melted my heart. From the blush pink dress to the happy couple cycling through Paris on their bicycles, I love nothing more than a chic and gorgeous bride marrying her handsome man in a way that really captures the couples style. Crazy love for this local French wedding, photographed by Keith Photographie.

Can you believe I’ve never been in Paris?! No really! I’m there every single day through beautiful photographs and if you dropped me outside the Eiffel Tower I know the first 20 places I’d want to visit but probably never see because of all the other amazing places I’d find along the way… but yeah, I’ve never been. So needless to say, every time I open up a Parisian engagement shoot or wedding, I get this strange meshed feeling of despair and jealousy all at once but nearly as soon as i get it, it is replaced by an absolute genuine happiness for the couple staring back at me from my computer. They are doing their thing, their way and in Paris and I really am elated for them. Jenelle and Paul are one such couple and there to catch them doing it their way on camera was Juliane Berry – a destination wedding photographer based between LA and Paris. So much fun.

Whether your dream French wedding is celebrating on your own private boat down the river Seine or in one of the many charmingly picturesque villages in the Languedoc region, we are on a mission to find a venue that is perfect for you. Planning abroad doesn’t often doesn’t afford you the luxury of visiting possible reception locations every other weekend and scouring the internet can get more than frustrating, especially when the websites are of poor quality. So we have decided that we are going do as much as the looking for you as we can and showcase our favourite finds so that hopefully it will narrow down your search for the all important first planning trip over to your destination. We have become pro’s at looking past the shabby websites and trust us, a homemade website can oftentimes mean a great find and a venue full of character. My own brother had his wedding in France a number of years ago and when I look at the website now, I cannot believe it is the same place.
I don’t know where to start with Castlenau des Fieumarcon. This fortified village in Gascony, France is nothing short of spectacular. The entire village offers exclusive rental including the 16 stone houses to accommodate up to 60 guests and with a chapel onsite, you can celebrate your entire wedding there and in splendid isolation.

A while back, we decided that we would feature a local wedding every now and then. Today’s wedding is that of Anne Sophie and Jean, held at the Hotel du Parc, in Mulhouse. Their special day was photographed by Christophe Mortier, who Anna Sophia said “captured our day so spectacularly that all the magical and emotional feelings of our wedding all come back each and every time we take a look at our album”.

Today, we are whole heartedly celebrating the first day of spring with a sunshine filled, crazy beautiful wedding in Provence. We have the South of France, an open marquee, lots of bunting, a vintage citreon 2CV, and a cheesecake (no… an actual cake made of cheese)… hows that for amazingness so far? Add Kathryn from Sages Comme des Images to the mix for beautiful photographic evidence and you’ve pretty much got what i’d call an ideal situation here – but I’ll let you be the judge of that!

Aoife was born in the UK but moved to Ireland when she was 16. She met Jamie on the first day during morning hymns at the chapel. They now live in South Africa so we were really intrigued to find out why it was this globetrotting couple chose France and Aoife was more than happy to tell us…
“We would have loved to have our wedding in Kerry on the West Coast Ireland. The cost (we think there would have been over 350 guests turning up), the weather and the logistics of planning a wedding in such a remote place in Ireland while we both lived in South Africa deterred us. A great friend of ours Cat, has a house in the Luberon Vally in Provence and we have been lucky enough to be invited several times and we fell in love with the rolling hills and the villages perched steep on the cliffs and hilltops. We also have a healthy love for good food and wine! We love the country markets, the warm friendly people and the sunshine!! When it came to planning our wedding we knew that we wanted more time with our family and friends as we don’t get to spend enough time at home as it is such a long haul journey from South Africa. If we married at home we would have had 1.5 days of time with everyone but in France we got over a week so it was an easy decision. We had people travelling from Ireland, UK, Canada, USA, Hong Kong and of course South Africa and everyone stayed at least 4 days and most a week or more. We chose to honeymoon with family and friends afterwards to prolong our time together also and along with having the wedding in France, it was the best decision we made.”

And the proposal?
“Jamie whisked me away for my birthday weekend to one of our favourite places in South Africa, Franshoek. We went to a wine farm where they had prepared a beautiful picnic basket for us which we set out by the river. Jamie was in a terrible rush to finish lunch and I got a little suspicious. He said he had something for me and took out a beautiful tiny snail shell and a smooth stone that I had given to him on the beach in Kerry years ago and he had kept ever since. Then he gave me 12 green envelopes. The first had a picture of us at a party where we first kissed and the rest progressed through the years, our favourite moments together in our favourite places, until I got to the last envelope. When I opened it there was simply a piece of white card with a question mark on it. He said told me it was to fill with a picture from this weekend and then wobbled up to one asked knee and me to marry him!! I cried a lot of happy tears, said “about time” until he eventually reminded me I had to say yes. Which I did!”

The important job of choosing the shoes…
