Rome, Italy ✈ Venue Spotlight

Rome_Venues_137

So after our wedding planning trip to Rome before our own wedding last year I thought I’d share some of the wonderful wedding venues we visited and today I am concentrating on the Piazza di Spagna, Spanish Steps, area in Rome’s city center.

The Spanish Steps is one of the most atmospheric and lively areas of Rome center. The elegant staircase consists of 137 steps over twelve different flights. It is especially beautiful in May, when it is overflowing with vibrant pink azaleas. The steps are usually very crowded, used as a gathering place for both locals and tourists.

If you’re looking for a city center location for your wedding it’s the perfect area to begin your search. I have three wonderful wedding venues to share with you today, so lets get started…

Hotel Hassler

Hotel Hassler is a beautiful hotel at the top of the Spanish Steps, very exclusive, with a garden room, the Palm Court, on the ground floor and a roof top terrace on the seventh floor both wedding reception venue options. The roof top terrace will take your breath away, the panoramic views are truly stunning and unmatched by any other views in Rome. The terrace fits max. 26 people seated and is ideal for a small intimate wedding or alternatively an arrival cocktail reception. Both locations are weather permitting, in case of unfavourable weather your wedding will be moved to one of their indoor sala, which are also very opulent. Other room options can cater for up to 100 seated and up to 200 cocktail party.

Ireland ✈ Venue Spotlight

Venue Spotlight Ireland_007

It’s St. Patrick’s week and we are celebrating being Irish the whole week long. Yesterday, we were so excited to show off Part One of our second ever styled shoot – “A Mythical Tune” which was based on Old Irish Wedding Traditions. Part two and three are yet to come this week so don’t miss out! A few weeks ago we started a new series to try and help all you destination couples find the perfect venue in France. This week, we couldn’t look anywhere else but Ireland so for all of you thinking of getting married here and don’t know where to start, hopefully we can help. For our first Irish venue spotlight, we are looking at romantic Irish Castles. Castles in Ireland are plentiful and we must admit, we found it quite hard to pick just three to start with but we will eventually get around to all of our favourites!

Belle Isle Castle – Co. Fermanagh

This absolutely stunning venue sits on one of the 8 islands on Lough Erne in Co. Fermanagh, Northern Ireland and is perfect for a small and intimate destination wedding in Ireland as it offers exclusive rental. The 17th Century Castle has 7 rooms decorated in antique furniture that can sleep up to 16 people within the castle but also offers self catering cottages that can accommodate a further 54 people if you have a bigger crowd coming over. Entertain your wedding guests with dinner in the Grand Hall and enjoy the tranquil castle surroundings.

France ✈ Venue Spotlight

France Venue_073

Whether your dream French wedding is celebrating on your own private boat down the river Seine or in one of the many charmingly picturesque villages in the Languedoc region, we are on a mission to find a venue that is perfect for you. Planning abroad doesn’t often doesn’t afford you the luxury of visiting possible reception locations every other weekend and scouring the internet can get more than frustrating, especially when the websites are of poor quality.  So we have decided that we are going do as much as the looking for you as we can and showcase our favourite finds so that hopefully it will narrow down your search for the all important first planning trip over to your destination. We have become pro’s at looking past the shabby websites and trust us, a homemade website can oftentimes mean a great find and a venue full of character. My own brother had his wedding in France a number of years ago and when I look at the website now, I cannot believe it is the same place.

Castelnau des Fieumarcon

I don’t know where to start with Castlenau des Fieumarcon. This fortified village in Gascony, France is nothing short of spectacular. The entire village offers exclusive rental including the 16 stone houses to accommodate up to 60 guests and with a chapel onsite, you can celebrate your entire wedding there and in splendid isolation.
