Every now and then a wedding comes along that makes me think two people can actually be destined for each other. It’s as if Kathi and Ben were being pushed together by fate until they stuck! The couple kept meeting by chance and ran into each other several times before they started going out but once they did, they never looked back. More from Kathi below on their meeting and wedding, but first these amazing images from Be Light. You will love this magnificent Austrian castle!
“We met seven years ago at Ben’s sister’s wedding. It wasn’t love at first sight- we didn’t have a chance to talk to each other at that wedding. One year later he moved from Romania to Graz in Austria and we saw each other again at church. Even though his sister predicted then that we’d make a sweet couple it was another three years before we began to date! I took the first step by telling him that I had to give him some photos I had taken of him so we’d have to meet. And so we began to date in May 2010. Then I told him that I had to show him my new car, so we met again. We talked every day for hours on the phone and met almost daily. It was such a lovely time!”
“After instructions to meet Ben in the city, we went to my favorite yoghurt bar and then to the Schlossberg, the most beautiful place in Graz to be at night overlooking the whole city. It was a lovely summer night and he was very nervous so I suspected that he might ask me that evening! We sat down on a bench and talked. I waited for him to pop the question, and when he didn’t I was a little disappointed, but then I thought about what a beautiful night it was and how much I loved him and was just happy to be there. We left for what I thought was home but made a stop at a really lovely view point with a panorama of the glowing city. Ben started to tell me how much he loved me, then got down on his knees and asked if I would to be his wife. Of course I said yes! He was so sweet, we cried together and he hugged me so tight.”
“When we started to plan it was a little difficult as our date was relatively soon and every location we tried seemed to be booked. We eventually found the Garden of Generations which suited us perfectly and we took the only date they had left. The guest invitations were sent pretty much right away which was about two months in advance. I think the best decision we made overall was our choice of photographers and our videographer! They were superb and also got on really well with the guests at the wedding which is so important. We have no regrets about the way we planned the wedding or how it went, it was perfect for us. If we had advice it would be to definitely take up offers of help from family and friends, we had so many that helped us we just have to say thanks again to them!”
Don’t you love a perfectly timed photo like the one of Kathi and Ben after the ceremony? Confetti, bubbles, and then someone throws a hat up in the air at the precise moment the photo is snapped and it looks like Ben is wearing it! Awesome. Kathi makes such a good point about how important it is that your photographer and videographer get on well with your guests- if people feel relaxed around them the images captured will be so much better! Just wait until you see their video from Timotei Jinar which we are saving for tomorrow: it’s worth the wait.
