Warm sunlight, gorgeous bridal makeup and hair, a beautiful wedding dress and a pretty unique cake- the wedding inspiration we have for you today is well worth a look. Joined by a multicultural team of wedding service providers based in the Algarve, wedding photographer and shoot organiser Désirée Rommel of LAVIfotografie flew from Germany with a beautiful Cymbeline wedding dress in her carry-on, sponsored by German dress designer Doris Nothnagel from All About Dreams. The setting was to be Alvor, a little romantic village near Portugal’s most southerly tip. Warm sunlight reflects off the many white walls of the town streets here with little alleyways leading to a pretty harbor with several cafes situated right at the water’s edge. The beautiful Alvor beach with its yellow rocks and turquoise water, where the shoot winds up, is just a few minutes walk away from the harbor. Check out more below from Désirée on the details of the shoot!

“The bride’s hair was styled by Iryna from Sisters Hair Studio: owners and real life sisters Iryna and Yulia just opened up their salon this year. The first hairstyle featured is an elegant wedding bun with one coral Austin rose. For the beach we wanted a more simple and soft look with curls, and Iryna styled our model with a half up half down look. As a finishing touch, hypericum berries were added.

Makeup was done by the wedding planner Jane from Unique and Chic Weddings and for the first part of the shoot she went for a classical look with a strong red lip and black winged eye liner. The flawless complexion was achieved using MAC Studiofix foundation. For the second part we wanted a more relaxed beach-style wedding look, hence the soft pink lips with pink blush.

Michelle from Xeli Florist Algarve‘s inspiration for the bouquet was a warm spring breeze,  with rich corals and pinks with a hint of whites and a touch of yellow. The flowers used were a mix of Austin roses and peonies, with natural greens picked from a farm in Lagos. The berries used are hypericum, a flower indigenous to Europe. The mix of warm colors is a palette on trend with weddings for 2016.

Helen of Algarve Cakes designed a cake that really stands out- she is known for loving extraordinary design. Helen attempted something she had not tried before: an uncommonly tall cake with five tiers. The outside was white fondant with coral and peach sugar flowers with rosettes, making the cake a perfect match for the bouquet. The top tier is elevated above the rest of the cake with a glass. This cake was one of the designer’s favorite cakes to decorate. We ended the shoot underneath the setting sun with the bride’s feet in the sand: a fitting end to a beautiful day!”
