Good morning, and happy 4th of July to all our US readers! If you’ve stopped by Fly Away Bride before you might know that we love a good boho designer. Californian Brit Castanos created the label Daughters of Simone taking the name after feminist author and philosopher Simone de Beauvoir. Starting out with a few reconstructed vintage gowns from the 1960s and 70s and inspired by her own mother’s off-the-shoulder 1970s dress, Brit began to design her own made-to-order label. Today the Daughters of Simone collection is comprised of boho wedding gowns that are right on trend: some of our favorite details include low-cut backs and intricate high necklines, bell sleeves and scalloped lace edges, as well as the crotchet overlays of many of the gowns. The billowy, light designs and short dress options are perfect for the hot climate you’ll be traveling to for your destination wedding!
