Good morning lovelies! We are in particularly good form today as it’s officially the season to be jolly and we are so excited about the month that lies ahead as it’s also the season to get engaged and in January, many couples will begin the wonderful but daunting task of planning their wedding. With destination weddings becoming more and more popular, we are really looking forward to a busy January and hopefully, we will be presenting a fresh and improved Fly Away Bride in the New Year. More on that again! Today, we are shining a spotlight on beautiful wedding venues in Portugal as it’s one very popular destination wedding location, especially amongst Europeans. Portugal has an amazing variety of wonderful wedding venues on offer and we have two gems to share with you today.

Casas do Coro

First up is the beautiful Casas do Coro in the ancient hilltop village of Marialva. Perhaps the biggest attraction to this beautiful little place is that it is actually a collection of 8 cottage rentals in Marialva and with less than 40 inhabitants in the village, you can pretty much rent out this place in its entirety for a very exclusive village wedding. With so few people around, Marialva is incredibly peaceful and relaxed and with stunning views of the castle and narrow cobbled streets, it’s a one of a kind setting for a fabulous European wedding. Casas do Coro also has a restaurant that has been very well received by critics and well, we can’t think of anything more romantic than dining al fresco with all of your wedding guests in such a unique location.

Imani Country House

One area of Portugal that simply doesn’t receive enough attention is the picturesque region of Alentejo. Think Provence or Tuscany, it’s that beautiful but puzzlingly not as popular. Alentejo is home to beautiful rolling hills and many beautiful wedding worthy properties but one that stood out for us is Imani Country House. It’s an idyllic retreat and can accommodate 26 or so guests in their luxurious rooms. The space outside though is breathtaking and perfect for an outdoor wedding of any size.
