What is your approach to photographing weddings and what is your style?

My style is Documentary / Photojournalistic. The main objective for me is to capture the wedding day in its natural state as it happens with all the emotions.

Where are you based and what cities/countries are you available to for work in?

I’m based in Killorglin, Co. Kerry in Ireland.
I’m available to travel anywhere in Europe to photograph weddings.

Do you have any tips for couples on how to get the most from their wedding photography?

I think the best advise is to make sure the photographer of your choice will match your expectations by his style and approach to the wedding day. Some other helpful advise can be hiring a make up artist and hairdresser that can help you get ready at home. You will save on time and stress not having to travel anywhere…. During The Day the more relaxed and joyful you are the better photographs you can expect. Focus on each other and your family and have fun knowing you can trust the photographer you chosen.

Do you shoot engagement sessions?

Yes I shoot engagement sessions. I love them because it gives the couples and I an opportunity to get to know each other in a more informal setting and we are all more familiar with each other and relaxed on the wedding day.

What advice can you give to couples planning an engagement session?

Just be yourself and enjoy the occasion. I’ll work anywhere but I recommend that the couple choose a place that has significance for them and brings happy memories. This will allow them to focus on each other and be more at home with the surroundings.

Do you have any advice for couples planning a destination wedding?

I would suggest that you hire a photographer from your home country. Often I meet my clients a couple of times before the wedding to chat about their expectations and to get to know each other. This can help greatly with plans and frequently some couples are open to suggestions regarding style and shooting locations and I can discuss and advise them based on their personalities and requirements. The convenience of a short drive or local call to your photographer for a chat can be re-assuring to some couples. Even if the planned destination is new to me I love the creative opportunity this gives to capture the couple and location through fresh eyes.
After the wedding when you return home there are often plenty of decisions to be made regarding types of albums, frames, print styles and presentation of photographs to perfectly match your home and personality.
In addition I would advise to hire a wedding planner that will help you organize all on site. Someone who is familiar with place you are planning your wedding at and will be able to coordinate every detail of your day so you could have fun with your family and friends.

Can you tell us a bit more about the person behind the lens, how did you get into photography and what are your influences?

Happy husband and proud father. I love my family, music and good coffee. After several years traveling and working as a sound engineer I developed an interest in capturing all those unforgettable moments we would love to keep forever. This along with my interest in different cultures, personalities and Art made it a natural progression into the world of photography.
Now I am sharing my passion and my knowledge with my clients.

Have you got any exciting plans that you’d like to tell us about?

I have a few exciting projects I am working on and some amazing weddings to shoot this year. Details will be revealed on my blog www.bwitekblog.com
