Today we have wonderfully intimate destination wedding to share in the wonderfully eclectic Marrakesh. Being only a three-hour flight away from the UK, this is a great choice for a destination wedding. It’s ideal both for a small, intimate wedding and for larger celebrations with family and friends. Darin and Matthews’ photographer Virginie Faucher tells us more about this FAB wedding…

Darin and Matthew live in Nottinghamshire. They came from UK to Marrakesh on holiday and fell in love with the magic of it and decided to plan their wedding there.

Darin was a very relaxed bride, getting ready in her room. She was with her two bridesmaids, one of them was Darin’s daughter, these two just looked like sisters!

They picked Jnane Tamsna as their cceremony and reception venue, an oasis of serenity in the Palmeraie (Palm grove) of Marrakesh, made of a collection of individual houses spread out in a garden. Set in nine landscaped acres within a private estate, Jnane Tamsna offers a total of 24 en suite bedrooms spread over three properties. Both families were accommodated on site.

Matthew as well got ready in his room after a swim in the pool. Cool!

Their ceremony was outdoors celebrated under the trees with a beautiful white roses arch. Vows were exchanged with all the guests sitting on low white poufs in the shade.

Cocktails were served after the cceremony by the pool under a white tent. Then came acrobats, fire- eaters and traditional musicians and singers from the local folklore of Marrakesh playing drums and trumpets. Fun, and impressive!

Dinner was at sunset. The table was all green and white: white roses, green leaves from the garden tied around candlesticks, Moroccan lanterns and beautiful white and green tableware. Organic olive oil from the olive grove of Jnane Tamsna hotel was served with home-made Moroccan bread.

In the background, traditional musicians were playing softly “oud”, a pear-shaped stringed instrument commonly used in Northern-African music.

Thank you Virginie for sharing Darin and Matthew’s wedding with us.
