Hello there and welcome to Fly Away Bride, an online space dedicated to brides and grooms planning their dream wedding in Europe. Fly Away Bride was formed to fill a gap in the blogging world for information and inspiration on destination weddings. Our happy blogging team consists of wedding styling addict and bride-to-be Lindsay Moynagh and recent bride Amy Moynagh (in case you are wondering, Amy married Lindsay’s brother Gabriel in 2013 and that’s why they have the same, rather unusual surname!) Our aim is to inspire and inform couples planning an unforgettable destination wedding and to showcase all things pretty with this end in mind. Lindsay Moynagh – Creative Director After finishing my degree in Physics, Chemistry and Maths at Trinity College in Dublin, I made the natural progression into the world of live music, then events and finally into weddings! With five years of touring the world as a professional harpist under my belt, studying and working in event management in between show seasons, I finally settled back home in Ireland in 2010 and took up my role as Business Relationship Manager at the family business. To keep entertained in the evenings, I delved further into the world of weddings with Fly Away Bride and using a small trip around the world with my boyfriend Michael in 2014 as an excuse, I left my full time job to concentrate solely on the blog with Amy. On that amazing little trip around the world, Michael surprised me on New Years Day on our way back to our hotel in Baguio with a very beautiful diamond ring. We are currently in the throes of planning our very own Italian destination wedding for August 2015. I find it very hard to express how lucky I feel sometimes. People share the best day of their lives with us so that we can inspire and help plan their perfect wedding abroad. We meet and get to know some incredibly talented wedding vendors and some days I have to pinch myself because I love both my job and the wedding industry and am so proud that Fly Away Bride is part of it all. Amy Moynagh – Editing Director My introduction to the world of wedding planning began after getting engaged in 2012, following a whirlwind romance of fourteen years. I got married in 2013 with about fifty family and friends in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina in the US. Gabe and I live in the Dublin Mountains with our infant son and are expecting another baby in autumn 2016. I studied Fine Art and English Literature in college and am a member of the Graphic Studio Dublin, a collective of fine art printmakers. I love new books, old books, ok any books.. finding beautiful things online every day, and getting to spend as much time as possible with my husband by leg grabbing if he won’t bring me somewhere. It doesn’t always work. The idea of a destination wedding has always appealed to me. To get to work with both travel and weddings is one of the best jobs ever, and I consider myself truly lucky to be dealing with such happiness and beauty on a daily basis.
