The wedding really was a family affair! Another close relation is a professional make-up artist who works for film and stage productions and has a wedding studio in Bordeaux, France. Obviously I was more than happy to let her do her thing on the day for both my hair and make-up!
Planning a destination wedding usually requires a little bit more effort than one at home, having to get in contact with foreign suppliers to make bookings at all hours in order to accommodate time differences and conversing in languages that in most cases, you can barely say hello in! This week has been another super busy one on Fly Away Bride as Pamela and I are up to something but it’s still secret! We also celebrated Valentines day and just incase you missed anything, here is our weekly round up.
On Saturday we were in San Francisco for Sabrina and Jeffs outdoor wedding. We had treats on Monday to celebrate the run up Valentines Day for those of you planning a special night in with Pamela’s post on the Food of Love.
For Valentines Day, where else could we have been only in Paris for Rachel and Deans Engagement Session.
Then on Wednesday we were on Irish soil for the Wedding of Pam and Rick who flew all the way from Colorado to get married in Waterford Castle with just their children present. Yesterday, the multicultural wedding of Miki and Paulo took place in the Pousadas de Amares in Portugal.

Miki and Paulo’s wedding was sent to us all the way from Portugal by Quem Casa Quer Fotos and there are just so many things that I love about their wedding, I’m not too sure where to start. Not only did they manage to incorporate three different cultures into their big day (Paulo’s parents are Portuguese and Miki is Japanese) they planned everything from the UK. We have a wonderful California destination wedding to feature today full of amazingly thoughtful details. Sabrina and Jeff travelled from Boston to the Ralston White Retreat in Mill Valley in San Francisco North Bay with a host of wedding guests from across the US to celebrate their wedding weekend. They were amazingly creative and thoughtful when it came to planning the details of their wedding. Sabrina made her own jewelry, they had chocolate and olive oil tasting for their guests as well as fun party props for dancing and an ice cream sundae bar instead of wedding cake…
